Ah, Chicago. Obama’s ‘hometown.’ Some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and some of the highest crime rate in the nation. How is that possible? Oh yeah, criminals don’t obey laws. Pretty simple.

So, once again Chicago has experienced a deadly weekend with at least 18 people shot and 6 dead so far. Where is the outrage from Obama, Sharpton and Black Lives Matters? There is none. It doesn’t fit their narrative. You see, most if not all of the shooters are black and the guns used were obtained illegally.

ABC7 reports that one of the shootings happened in the University Village neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Two security guards were called to a large outdoor party at a housing complex in the 1300 block of West Hastings. Someone started shooting and a 24-year-old man was shot in the back and killed. The two security guards were wounded.

Officers received a call of shots fired in the 4800 block of West Monroe in Austin just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday and found a 23-year-old man lying face down, police said. He was shot several times and was dead at the scene.

One man, 29, was shot in both thighs, his hand a forearm. The other man, 30, was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital where their conditions stabilized, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm the two most recent deaths Saturday morning.

Two men, both 19, were in a vehicle in the first block of South Springfield in West Garfield Park about 1:30 a.m. when they were shot, police said.

One man was shot in the abdomen and was dead at the scene, police said. The other was shot in right leg and listed in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Late Friday, a man was fatally shot in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was shot in the neck about 10:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Kirkland, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner’s office confirmed both deaths but didn’t release additional details Saturday morning.

The weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred in West Englewood.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head just after 9 p.m. by two males who approached the vehicle he was riding in, police said. At the time of the shooting, the vehicle was going down an alley in the 6500 block of South Hamilton

Police said the teen, identified by his mother as Melvin Cook, was pronounced dead at the scene, though the medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

Police said the driver ran away from the vehicle after the shooting.

The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred on Lake Shore Drive in the Lake View neighborhood.

A 27-year-old man walked into Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot just before 5:30 a.m., police said. He told investigators he was shot in the 3200 block of North Lake Shore Drive.

His condition had stabilized Saturday morning, though additional details were not immediately available, police said.

A typical weekend in Chicago, unfortunately.

Michele Hickford at Allen West adds this:

It just seems like if Black Lives REALLY DO Matter, activists would be making a big deal about how this happens so often in Chicago and in other inner cities across the nation! If Black Lives REALLY DO Matter, why doesn’t the organization work hard to determine why this continues to occur? What social and economic conditions exist to generate this kind of behavior? What has contributed to the breakdown in the inner city civil society and in the families? Where are the parents? The faith leaders?

If this were white on black crime we wouldn’t hear the end of it. But it’s not. Frankly, this weekend was really no big whoop — of course it’s not over yet. Anyway, it can’t compare to this year’s Memorial Day weekend when 6 people were killed and at least 63 shot.

But if Black Lives REALLY DO Matter could you please explain why y’all keep shooting each other?

God Bless.
