With the nation’s collective attention being on the terror attack in California, nobody happened to see what was happening on the Southern Border. Five Middle Eastern men were apprehended trying to enter the nation, and what they had with them is terrifying.

Obama’s number one job is keeping our country safe, but like everything else, he’s failing miserably at it. In fact, it’s so bad that illegals and foreigners think they can just waltz on over the border anytime they want to, and they’re right.

That’s why five military-aged males of Middle Eastern descent thought they could just stroll into America without anybody noticing. Thankfully this time they were caught, but the incident begs the question – how many have made it through without anybody knowing?

According to Judicial Watch, the unidentified men were apprehended along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona, not far from Fort Huachuca, which is an electronic intelligence hub for the Army. But while illegals hopping the border isn’t anything new, thanks to the utter incompetence of this administration, which some would argue is criminally negligent behavior, the fact these men were carrying stainless steel, bomb-like cylinders with them should scare the hell out of everybody. Worse yet, it appears as if Border Patrol is covering the incident up with the help of Homeland Security, who they called when they discovered what the men were carrying.

Border Patrol agents spotted the men crossing a ranch property in the vicinity of Amado, which is located about 35 miles south of Tucson and has a population of 275. Two of the Middle Eastern men were carrying stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, JW’s sources say, alarming Border Patrol officials enough to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for backup. A multitude of federal agents descended on the property and the two men carrying the cylinders were believed to be taken into custody by the FBI.

Only three of the men’s names were entered in the Border Patrol’s E3 reporting system, which is used by the agency to track apprehensions, detention hearings and removals of illegal immigrants. E3 also collects and transmits biographic and biometric data including fingerprints for identification and verification of individuals encountered at the border. The other two men were listed as “unknown subjects,” which is unheard of, according to a JW federal law enforcement source. “In all my years I’ve never seen that before,” a veteran federal law enforcement agent told JW.

The disturbing incident comes just days after six men—one from Afghanistan, five from Pakistan—were arrested in nearby Patagonia, a quaint ranch town that sits 20 miles north of the Mexican border city of Nogales. Federal authorities have confirmed the November 17 arrests and a local news outlet published a story that includes an official statement from the Border Patrol. Special Agent Kurt Remus in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s  (FBI) Phoenix headquarters told JW that the agency’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces vetted and interviewed the six men and determined that there were “no obvious signs of terrorism” so they were returned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.

Special Agent Remus told Judicial Watch that there’s no records of this week’s incident in Amado, and the DHS isn’t answering any questions about it either, which isn’t surprising. The Obama administration is doing everything it can to downplay the threat of terrorists coming over our border, and now it appears as if they’re going as far as to cover up the incidents before anybody finds out.

While we’ll probably never know what was inside of the containers, this should worry everyone in the country. Think about how easy it would be for them to have been filled with nuclear material, biological weapons, or anything of the sort. With how porous our borders are, it wouldn’t be anything for these terrorist scumbags to walk into our nation and carry out an attack resulting in mass casualties. Thankfully this time they were caught. Let’s just pray there isn’t a next time.
