4 Cops SHOT DEAD Including Chief- Here’s What We Know

PAKISTAN — At least four policemen, including a senior official, were killed by unidentified assailants in ambush in Quetta on Thursday.

According to our correspondent, the incident occurred at Arbab Ghulam Ali road in Huda area where unknown gunmen fired shots on police vehicle.

The gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at the police mobile while it was patrolling the area, Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Razzak Cheema said.

Superintendent of Police Quaidabad Mubarak Shah was among the four murdered police personnel in what police said was an act of targeted terrorism.

Initial reports said three police officers died on the spot after being shot, while a senior official Mubarak Shah, who is SP Quaidabad, and his driver were critically injured, Samaa TV reported.

Shah was shifted to civil hospital where doctor made efforts to save his life; however, he succumbed to fatal bullet injuries.

The wounded driver is under treatment in the hospital.

Law enforcement personnel are frequent target of terrorists across Balochistan.

The latest incident of terrorism came three weeks after a powerful car bombing near the office of IG Balochistan killed 14 people and wounded 20.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel reached the site and started an investigation into the incident.
