5 States Ready To CONFISCATE YOUR Guns… If You Live Here You Need To MOVE NOW!

Lawmakers aren’t getting anywhere with pushing their gun control agenda from Capitol Hill and people aren’t clamoring to give up their guns as leftists and gun control proponents feel they should, for the “children” you know. As a result, five states are now taking measures to the ballot box in November to broaden government overreach.

In the states of Maine and Nevada, voters will be deciding if they want to expand background checks requirements to include gun sales between private individuals.  This means that the government can use this information to track and maintain a database of past and current ownership of registered firearms.  The state of Oregon is currently proposing that JUST this sort of thing be used to maintain a firearms registry.  This sort of information in the hands of the government has vast potential for untold misuse and abuse regarding confiscation, targeting, and harassment.

The state of Washington will find voters deciding whether to take guns out of the hands of those people who are subject to extreme risk protection orders, which include restraining orders and people at risk of suicide. This bill is calling to suspend a person’s ability to own or possess a firearm for up to one year based on their potential to harm themselves or another person.  Now I can see where good intentions and the path to hell get ALL sorts of mixed up on this one!  The issues with this, let me count the ways!

  • Restraining orders are granted almost as a matter of course in contentious divorces whether there is abuse present or not.  This means parties would be forced to give up firearms for up to one year simply because you can’t get along with your spouse? REALLY?
  • CRIMINALS and ABUSERS follow laws since WHEN???
  • Restraining orders are JUST paper — they always have been — a firearm is all that stands between you and imminent harm from another.  Words on paper are not going to stop someone that means you or themselves harm!

And then there is California and the Ammo Ban and the Anti-Gun Proposition 63, it will do the following —

  • BAN all standard (“high-capacity”) magazines…even those “grandfathered” in
  • BAN online and mail order / catalog ammunition direct purchases, killing online, small, and family-owned businesses
  • BAN the importation of ammunition purchased out-of-state
  • DESTROY virtually all small business ammo retailers with insane new regulations
  • CRIMINALIZE the sharing of ammunition between family and friends who may be hunting and/or shooting together
  • MANDATE a new $50 DOJ “ammunition purchase permit”
  • REQUIRE that ammunition sales are recorded in a new gun owner database, thus creating an ammunition and firearms registry.

Despite insane propaganda and those crazy enough to be willing to trade to trade their liberty for security, NOT ONE of these measures will do ANY of the following –

  • They will NOT stop any criminals from obtaining ammunition or guns
  • They will NOT make criminals follow laws.
  • It will NOT thwart any terrorist attack.
  • It will NOT allow law-abiding individuals to exercise their Constitutional Rights.
  • It will NOT keep our communities safer.

When police are minutes away, and seconds matter? Who or what would you prefer? A firearm in your hand or an unthinkable alternative?

According to the Hill

The National Rifle Association (NRA) and other pro-gun organizations are only cautiously engaging in the ballot fights. The NRA is spending significantly on a ballot measure in only one state, Nevada, though it intends to mount a campaign in Maine, too. Most of the NRA’s early spending has focused on the race for the White House.

Gun control advocates have made little progress in recent years despite a series of mass shootings. Just six states have expanded background checks in the four years since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., and Congress has rejected several gun control bills.

“After decades of legislative and electoral defeat, the gun control lobby has resorted to buying gun control by spending Bloomberg’s billions to impose his New York style gun control through the ballot initiative process,” said Jennifer Baker, an NRA spokeswoman.

“He can buy his way onto the ballot but the NRA is committed to exposing his lies and defeating the gun control ballot initiatives that in fact would not prevent criminals from getting guns but instead make it harder for law-abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional right to self-protection.”

Gun control advocates in several states say they are turning their attention outside the Beltway. They hope to build momentum first by expanding background checks, then later by tackling other specific gun controls that poll well with voters.

They compare their strategy to the fight to legalize same-sex marriage, which started in a few states before snowballing across the country.

Essentially what they are telling the American people is this — “we’ll give you the opportunity to ‘choose’ the way we tell you to. If you dawdle too long? We’ll CHOOSE for YOU! After all, we wouldn’t want you to get it wrong would we???”

Think same-sex marriage — it’s the same thing all over again!
