Iraq’s Mosul is being besieged by a ragtag coalition of uneasy allies, which includes Iraqi government forces, Shiite militias, Kurdish troops, and the Turkish Army. The US-led coalition is providing air support for the operation, which was launched a week ago.

There were numerous attacks of the US-led coalition targeting residential areas, schools, and other civilian objects both in Mosul and in other parts of the Iraqi Nineveh Governorate,” ~ Gen. Sergey Rudskoy, head of Operations in the Russian General Staff

According to sources on the ground, Iraqi Abrams tank platoons are having hard time getting through, since ISIS somehow obtained Russian anti-tank rockets.

The U.S. provided intel months before the operation was to begin, most of the fighters are already gone from Mosul.

ISIS fighters have since launched several raids on communications, distracting the attacking forces from the fighting over Mosul.

We are closely monitoring the situation around Mosul. So far we see no substantial progress in liberating this city from the terrorists of ISIS,” ~ Gen. Sergey Rudskoy

ISIS has slowed Iraqi advances not with direct fighting, but with dozens of truck and car bombs, networks of mines, mortars, snipers, and suicide attackers.

A commander, a colonel named Jamal al Amenki, says his forces weren’t expecting attacks on this scale.

“We knew all their tactics. We knew that when we started to attack them, they would also fight us — and we knew where they were.” ~ Colonel Jamal al Amenki

As this conflict continues, the U.S. media will spew lies and propaganda, distractions and garbage stories.

The U.S. airstrikes have killed civilians and injured 200 more, that’s the truth of Mosul. Not to mention already this week, the Peshmerga forces have already lost dozens of soldiers from the intense fighting.
