IRAQ – The Islamic State terrorists slaughtered seven civilians after Islam’s Eid al-Fitr prayer this morning in the Kirkuk Province of Iraq.

A local source said that the so-called Sharia court of the Islamic State group in Hawija District sentenced seven civilians to death, on charges of cooperation with Iraqi security forces, while added that the terrorist group slaughtered the civilians, this morning, after Eid al-Fitr prayers in public, Iraqi News reported.

Not only did they kill these people, the Islamic State militants cut the bodies of the civilians into small pieces, then put the flesh in plastic bags and threw them in the southern suburb of Hawija, the source added on condition of anonymity.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic State is still controlling Hawija District and the areas of al-Rashad, al-Abbasi, al-Zab and al-Riyad that considered the strongholds of the terrorist group, from where it launches attacks on Salahuddin Province and the outskirts of Kirkuk.

Meanwhile, AFF reported earlier that The Ministry of Defense’s War Media Cell announced, on Sunday, that 30 members of the Islamic State group were killed, and an explosives workshop was destroyed by air strikes, west of Anbar Province.

The WMC said that Iraqi Air Force carried out air strikes, destroying a hideout that was used by the Islamic State foreign militants and killing 20 terrorists inside it, as well as destroying a workshop used for explosives’ manufacturing and killing 10 militants inside it, in Rawa District, west of Anbar, Iraqi News reported.

The airstrikes were carried out based on accurate intelligence information, the War Media Cell added.

International coalition and Iraqi air force continue targeting the Islamic State in the areas of Anah, Rawa, Qaim and the western desert of Rutba.

These efforts  come as part of an offensive launched by US-backed security forces, supported by Iranian-backed sectarian IMIS Shiite militias to oust ISIS terrorists from Iraq.

Just yesterday AFF reported that at least 50 civilians were killed and dozens injured when a missile struck a marketplace in western Mosul.

The missile hit a crowded market in Mosul al-Jadida.

Mosul al-Jadida had previously been the stage for civilian massacres in March, when airstrikes left more than 200 civilians dead.

Meanwhile, Cap. Jabbar Hassan, from the Iraqi Federal Police service, told Anadolu Agency that forces managed on Friday to rescue more than 200 civilians who had been trapped inside five booby-trapped houses in Bab al-Beed neighborhood in the Old City. He said the rescue came after intense encounters with ISIS militants whom, he said, used the civilians as human shields Iraqi News reports.

Iraqi troops have advanced closer to the Old City’s Grand Nuri al-Kabir Mosque, where Islamic State’s supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the establishment of the group’s rule in 2014. ISIS members blew up the mosque’s ancient minaret on Wednesday as troops advanced, a move which the Iraqi command said signaled an imminent defeat to the extremist group.

A few hundred militants are thought to remain inside the Old City, but are holding at least 100,000 civilians who are either shot dead or caught and executed if they attempt to flee the neighborhood.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in statements on Thursday that Mosul would be declared Islamic State-free within a few days.

That’s great news.
