FLASHBACK: Hillary Trashes Trump For “Assassination Threat,” But Look What She Said 8 Years Ago

Donald Trump rejected claims he was advocating violence against Hillary Clinton when he suggested at a rally Tuesday there might be something “Second Amendment people” can do to stop her from picking judges, telling Fox News he was only talking about their “political” power – and saying of the media coverage: “Give me a break.”

The candidate made the comments after telling voters in Wilmington, N.C., that his Democratic rival wants to “abolish” the Second Amendment.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks,” he said.

Trump then added, “Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Almost immediately, liberals claimed that Trump was essentially calling for someone to kill Clinton.

The liberal media has double standards when it comes to Trump and Clinton.

Trump’s comments in no way referenced assassination (if anything they implied a revolution), but back in 2008, Clinton directly referenced someone assassinating then-Sen. Barack Obama, Conservative Tribune reports.

In an interview questioning why she was still in the race even though it was already clear that Obama was going to be the nominee, Clinton remarked how her husband only won the race in June in 1992, and then dropped this gem:

“We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. You know, I don’t understand it. You know, there’s lots of speculation about why it is,” she said, clearly stating that she wanted to stay in just in case someone decided to assassinate Obama.

As the New York Post reported at the time:

WASHINGTON – Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday brought up the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama – drawing a furious reaction from the front-runner’s camp.

“My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it,” she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton rebuked Clinton, saying her remark was “unfortunate and has no place in this campaign.”

Any comments about assassination and the primary contest are especially sensitive because Obama is the first African-American to advance so far in the race for the White House and he has faced threats, congressional sources have said.

“Remember when said she was waiting on Obama to be murdered? 2nd Amendment? Share it, bc MSM won’t!”

No one even mentioned those comments during Clinton’s run at the presidency this year. However, all we will be hearing for the next few days is commentary about how Trump’s remark was dangerous, reckless, horrible, etc.

Breitbart adds that another who mentioned the possibility of an Obama assassination was none other than Obama’s own running mate, then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE):

“I guarantee you, Barack Obama ain’t taking my shotguns, so don’t buy that malarkey,” Biden said angrily. “They’re going to start peddling that to you. I got two, if he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem.”

Predicting an uprising of people if the federal government supersedes its authority and tries to take away your rights should be lauded, and at any rate it isn’t nearly as bad as implying that you think your opponent will be assassinated.
