According to the Chicago Tribune, A&E released the following statement in response: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty.”Robertson’s comments consisted of recitation of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 from the Bible: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God.” He added, “Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

Robertson also borrowed from the apostle Paul to argue that homosexuality “morphs” into baser things — like “bestiality.”

Robertson is arguably the biggest star on the biggest show on television. Even though his comments “are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E yanked him from the show.

  1. He has as much right to express his views as anyone else, without fear. This IS still America.

  2. Alanna Bullard says:

The network knew that the Robertson family was staunch. Christians before they implemented . Phil and his family still have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The Christians out number all other demonstrations put together in this. country and are quite tired of the gays and atheist and Muslims crying that they are offended by anything that is true Christian

  3. If A&E wants to fire Phil for speaking his beliefs what is up with this . This is america we have the right to speak the way we feel .Phil never said it was the opnion o A&E it was his own beliefs If they fire him for his beliefs ill think about not watching any A&E programs

  4. Phil has as much right to speak his mind as any one else.. Tell it like you see it Phil

  5. Whoever fired the star should be fired!!
This is America! Giving his opinion is not against our law nor should it ever be!! Especially when he was asked for it!!!! And not on the show! Are other movie stars fired for expressing liberal crap to reporters ??? NO!

  7. I love this show I think everyone has the freedom of speech they should bring back Phil and fire the person who fired Phil .GET A LIFE A&E

  8. Phil was doing an interview and simply answered a question he was asked . Seems to me people upset because he gave an honest answer instead of saying what want want to hear.

  9. Phil has the right to express his opinions, A&E has the right to fire him, and we have the right to make them regret that decision……..

  10. Johnathan Blystone says:

I personaly will never watch a&e again if they cancel or dont bring back phil god bless

  11. Oh, A&E will regret this… There are already MILLIONS of people vowing to boycott A&E, and A&E usually gets about 14 million viewers per week for Duck Dynasty. Now it appears that the entire Robertson family is going to walk out of their contract with A&E…so, bye-bye 14 MILLION viewers per week.
