Donald Trump has not hesitated to blast Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail with Election 2016 fully underway.  The terror attack in Nice, France that left 84 dead has given Trump even more ammo to blast Clinton with.  He is blasting Clinton’s calls to let in thousands more refugees and states, ‘we better get awfully tough.”

Interestingly enough, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhle – the terrorist responsible for the recent attacks in Nice, France on Bastille Day – was not a refugee but was a French resident originally from Tunisia.  The attack rightfully stirs up concerns about accepting additional refugees from Islamic-occupied Syria.  It raises considerable risk in letting potential jihadists into the country.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that 5,211 refugees had been brought in by the end of June and the U.S. is on track to meet the administration’s target. The Obama administration has pledged that the United States will accept 10,000 refugees from Syria by the end of September 2016. Clinton is calling for a 550% increase from Obama’s current target.  Back in September 2015, Clinton called to increase the number of refugees to 65,000.

“I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in,” she told CBS News.  The Clinton campaign has refused to comment after the Bastille Day attacks in Nice if they intend to revisit this issue and proceed with the increase or put it on hold.

Meanwhile, Trump has called for a full-fledged ban on immigration from countries with a proven record for terrorism and has also suggested in the past that a temporary ban on all Muslim immigration might be in order for the United States. After the terror attacks, Trump stated that America had to get tougher.

“We have people that Hillary Clinton wants 550 percent more than Obama and Obama’s allowing a lot of people to come in. We have no idea who they are, they’re from Syria maybe, but they have no paperwork many times.  “We’re going to allow thousands, and ten and thousands, more people to come in and then you see a situation like Nice, France. It’s a horrible thing and we’d better get awfully tough.  I’d be making it very, very hard to come into our country,” Trump stated to Fox News on Thursday.

Others echoed Trump’s sentiment regarding refugees and immigration and illegal immigrants.

“No more political correctness, no more saying the migrant issue is just one of charity, we should let everyone in. It’s time for common sense to win over.  The political elite has to change their behavior. They can’t continue to live in an Alice in Wonderland fantasy world where it’s about disenfranchised individuals, it’s not about jihad,” Dr. Sebastian Gorka, chairman of military theory at Marine Corps University, told Fox News.
