Colin Kaepernick, a huge Fidel Castro fan was met with a thunderous chorus of boos in Miami on Sunday. Apparently the folks in Miami don’t share the same affection for the murderous dictator.

The Miami Herald reported that Kaepernick was greeted with great hostility by the crowd in Miami.

“Even before the 49ers broke the huddle on the sideline, fans loudly booed Kaepernick, who during a conference call on Wednesday made comments praising Fidel Castro. The former Cuban president died two days later.”

In an interview with Miami media last week, Kaepernick defended wearing a t-shirt that featured Castro’s image and praised his commitment to education and criminal justice reform.

“One thing Fidel Castro did do is they have the highest literacy rate because they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here even though we’re fully capable of doing that,” Kaepernick said.

Miami is home to a large community of Cuban exiles and they were outraged over Kaepernick’s comments about the man they considered a brutal oppressor, FOX reports.

Kaepernick has emerged as one of the most outspoken athletes in sports after he decided to take a knee during the national anthem before NFL games to voice concerns over police violence in America.

The game itself came down to the last play, when Kaepernick was stopped at the goal line by Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso, a Cuban-American.

“Naturally this game ends with Kiko (Cuban descent) delivering a running thigh to Kaep’s head.”

Alonso admitted there was some “bad blood” between he and Kaepernick over the Castro comments.

“There were some feelings on my part,” Alonso told the Miami Herald. “He doesn’t know about the suffering the Cuban people have had. He doesn’t have a clue,” Alonso added. “He’s ignorant.”

“I didn’t [see what happened in Cuba first-hand]. But I do have feelings about it. So there was some bad blood there for me with Kaepernick.”

By the way, the 49ers’ defeat was the 10th consecutive loss for the team, the worst losing streak in its history.

What a scumbag.
