City workers in Orlando, FL. found a special surprise as they took apart a Confederate statue called “Johnny Reb” that is being moved to another location, thanks to liberal snowflakes.

The workers discovered hidden in the statue’s base a rusted box believed to be a time capsule, likely placed there at least a century ago, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Don Price, who is in charge of the cemetery said the box weighs about 3 pounds.

There were no immediate plans to open the time capsule, according to the paper. Officials are concerned that the wrong conditions might damage its contents, which are likely documents or photos.

“We just have to take our due diligence in making sure it’s opened correctly,” Price said.

The statue was first erected on Main Street — now Magnolia Avenue — in 1911, near the old Orange County courthouse, before being moved to the park in 1917, the paper reports.

Price said the inclusion of a time capsule was a practice typical of the era in which the statue was constructed. Though city staff didn’t know for sure, “we were kind of hoping … there was a time capsule,” he said.

It’s being moved again amid a renewed public outcry that it’s a symbol of racism and white supremacy. A similar outcry occurred in New Orleans and led to the removal of the city’s Confederate statues, Fox News reported.

Cassandra Lafser, a spokeswoman for Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, said the statue is being disassembled and reassembled as part of the move. She said it will take about six weeks for the statue to be fully rebuilt and on display in Greenwood Cemetery.

Dyer has estimated the cost for moving the statue at $120,000.

Gee, I wonder who is paying for that- oh yeah, hard working taxpayers.

That money could have and should have been put to better use but that’s not how liberals think. Of course thinking requires a brain so there you go.

Anyways, Lafser says officials are working with historians on an inscription to be placed with the statue which puts the monument “in proper historical perspective.”

Oh brother- “in proper historical perspective?”

One can only imagine what that’ll be.

So much damn hate.

God Bless. Source- AFF
