Andersson said he doesn’t know what led to the attack. The officer had seen Leonardo Penuelas-Escobar cradling his injured girlfriend, then set up flares to try to get drivers to slow down on a major highway. Moments later, Andersson spotted Penuelas-Escobar with a gun in his hand.

The reports say Penuelas-Escobar said something in Spanish before shooting the officer in the shoulder and beating him in the head with a handgun, which had been stolen months earlier from a home.

His attacker wrestled him to the ground and began slamming his head repeatedly into the asphalt, RAY STERN at Phoenix New Times reports.

Fortunately, a passerby saw what was happening and stopped.

“I noticed the suspect on top of Trooper Andersson, beating him in a savage way,” Yoxall said. “I immediately pulled over. My commands were ignored by the suspect as [Andersson] called out for help. And I alleviated the threat to him.”

As DPS Director Colonel Frank Milstead revealed last week, Yoxall positioned himself in a way to avoid further harming Andersson, then took two shots at the suspect.

Another Good Samaritan, Brian Schober, drove up and used the trooper’s radio to call for help.

While Yoxall tried to comfort Andersson, the attacker got up and came at Yoxall, who fired once more, hitting the man in the head and killing him.

The girl died as a result of the crash.

Both were illegal aliens and meth users and accused drug dealers.

So HELL YEAH!

Great job Thomas Yoxall!

Stay safe out there, it’s a crazy world.
