Gone are the days of pandering to divas and spoiled prima donnas that simply play a game for a living, making more in a year than some Americans will see in their lifetime.

After Golden State Warriors Point Guard Steph Curry decided to turn the team’s visit to the White House into a political event and signaled he had no intention of attending, President Donald Trump came out and canceled the whole thing! President Trump clearly is done pandering and the gloves are off! Apparently being a social justice warrior and a whiny bitch are more important to a man that makes millions tossing a ball around.

Many Americans are sick to death of athletes that would rather use their sport to stand on their left-wing political platform of choice rather than actually play the game they are paid to play.

The whole debacle started on Thursday with an ESPN interview between Ramona Shelburne and Golden State Warriors Coach Steve Kerr. The team had been invited to visit the White House to celebrate their NBA title and arguably the two most prominent players on the team – Steph Curry and Kevin Durant – were having a man-trum about whether they were even going to go.

Coach Kerr was attempting to be diplomatic in the interview stating his players would sit down as a team to discuss whether they would visit the White House.

Except on Friday Curry doubled down and dug his heels in like a toddler.  He stated under no uncertain terms that he wanted NOTHING whatsoever to do with President Trump while speaking to reporters at the Warriors’ media day.  He stated –

“That we don’t stand for basically what our president … the things that he said and the things that he hasn’t said in the right terms that we won’t stand for it. And by acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to.

It’s not just the act of not going. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion. You can talk about all the different personalities that have said things and done things, from [Colin] Kaepernick to what happened to [Michael] Bennett to all sorts of examples of what has gone on in our country that we need to kind of change. And we all are trying to do what we can, using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light on that.

… I don’t think us not going to White House is going to miraculously make everything better … [but] this is my opportunity to voice that.”

This is, of course, Curry’s choice to voice his opinion but President Trump is correct when he states that an invitation to the White House is generally considered an honor.  To turn it into a political platform for a failed former quarterback who supports brutal Cuban dictators while simultaneously claiming racial oppression as a biracial man raised in a white family seems rather ludicrous.  That would be my freedom to tell him he is behaving like an egotistical jackass. It would also be President Trump’s freedom to rescind that invitation.
