When Donald Trump was President he issued an executive order banning the popular app Tik-Tok from the Apple and Google stores on national security grounds and was ridiculed for it by Democrats and the media.

Not only that as soon as Biden came into office he issued his own executive order reversing Trump’s ban.

Well, guess what? Biden’s FCC commissioner Brendan Carr just issued a warning that Tik-Tok poses a national security risk due to the massive amounts of data it harvests from users and asked Google and Apple to voluntarily remove the Chinese spy app from their stores.

The FCC commissioner has called on the CEOs of Google and Apple to remove TikTok from their app stores, citing new reports suggesting the video app popular among American young people is harvesting “swaths of sensitive data” that is being accessed by Beijing on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

In a letter dated June 24, Brendan Carr, the commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission, warned Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook and Alphabet Inc. and Google LLC CEO Sundar Pichai of “an alarming new report” that shed fresh light on “serious national security threats posed by TikTok.”

“TikTok is not what it appears to be on the surface. It is not just an app for sharing funning videos or memes. That’s the sheep’s clothing,” Carr wrote. “At its core, TikTok functions as a sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data.”

TikTok is not just another video app.

TikTok doesn’t just see its users dance videos.

It collects search and browsing histories, keystroke patterns, biometric identifiers, draft messages and metadata, plus it has collected the text, images, and videos that are stored on a device's clipboard. pic.twitter.com/GKheArMM5X

Tiktok’s pattern of misrepresentations coupled with its ownership by an entity beholden to the CCP has resulted in U.S. military branches and national security agencies banning it from government devices.

Of course what Democrats and the media want you to forget is that Trump already tried to ban Tik-Tok for the very same reasons and not only was he ridiculed but almost as soon as Biden came into office he reversed Trump’s executive order banning the Chinese social media spy app:

President Joe Biden has revoked an executive order from his predecessor Donald Trump banning Chinese apps TikTok and WeChat in the US.

The ban faced a series of legal challenges and never came into force.

Instead, the US Department of Commerce will now review apps designed and developed by those in “the jurisdiction of a foreign adversary”, such as China.

It should use an “evidence-based approach” to see if they pose a risk to US national security, Mr Biden said.

TikTok did not offer comment on the news.
