A couple who stopped to pick up a meal at an IHOP restaurant in Texas say they will never go to another IHOP after getting a ‘message’ on their receipt.

The black couple got offended by being described as, well- BLACK PEOPLE! What happened to BLACK PRIDE? It’s not okay for a white person to describe you as BLACK? Oh wait. The employee who described them as black is, in fact, BLACK! Lol! You can’t make this stuff up.

Arainia Brown and her boyfriend Rolman Sparkman were so offended that they posted the racist receipt on Facebook.

 

Look, the black guy that took your order and forgot to get your name. Getting offended about a black person calling you black is absurd! You people ARE black! Unbelievable.

“This is not a joke,” said Sparkman. “It’s very serious and it hurt a lot of people’s feelings.”

Why would that hurt your feelings? I don’t get it.

“I feel upset, I’m sad, I’m angry. Like this, it makes no sense,” Brown said adding, “You could have asked me my name. Don’t put, don’t label me. I don’t label you.”

The waiter responsible for the incident posted an apology and explanation on Facebook.

He wrote: “So this is Dwayne W from the viral IHOP incident. All I want to say is, next Tuesday for National Pancake Day, and any other time as well, go to IHOP and get a delicious meal.”

“A slip up by me in a rush to get to-go orders to guests should not be held against an entire establishment. I apologize if I offended anyone because that wasn’t my intention.”

 

IHOP Corporate released the following statement about the incident:

“This was a poor choice made by our franchisee’s team member, and is not in keeping with policies and procedures. We recognize that it could be offensive and apologize. Everyone is welcome in our restaurants and our franchisee is using this as a teachable moment for the entire team so that it will not reoccur.”

The offended couple said they hope that the server understands the gravity of typing “BLK PPL.”

“Why would you do that to your own peoples when you already know what’s been going on in the past?”

“At the end of the day, everybody is a human being. Everybody is trying to work and make a living. Everybody is the same,” Brown said.

The couple has vowed never to eat at IHOP again.

So there you have it folks! Blacks offended by being called blacks by blacks.

Like I said, you can’t make this stuff up…
