BREAKING: Oregon Giving Federal Funds To BLACK People Only- White People Out Of Luck

The State of Oregon continues to defend a state program that distributes federal coronavirus relief funds to black people — and only black people — after two separate lawsuits have challenged the program as a violation of the U.S. Constitution, Breitbart News reports.

The Oregon state legislature’s Emergency Board created the Oregon Cares Fund this summer — with nightly Black Lives Matter riots raging in Portland — to allocate $62 million in funds from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to black residents (out of $200 million in total funds).

As people across our nation are struggling due to the global pandemic and our nation is divided as racism and greed stoke the fires of hate, politicians create programs to further their agendas.

We should not be creating programs, relief packages and stimulus for race, color or sex.  Last I checked, this was The United States of America and we are all in the mixing pot of cultures and races, which makes us all Americans.

Breitbart continued their report:

The Oregon Cares Fund website states:

The Oregon Cares Fund is a targeted investment in the Black community from the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund. This fund is meant to provide the Black community with the resources it needs to weather the global health pandemic and consequent recession. The Oregon Cares Fund is for Black people, Black-owned businesses, and Black community based organizations.

So in Oregon, racism and division only matter if you oppose any of their views, are not black and/or support President Trump.

The Oregon Cares Fund is the very definition of racism and of course it will add fuel to the fires of division.

By Thursday, 6,672 individuals and families, 201 businesses and 43 nonprofits from throughout Oregon had submitted online applications. The fund is being guided by the Council of Trust, a newly established group of 11 Black leaders from across the state, and is being administered by two nonprofits, the Contingent and the Black United Fund.

“There’s been such a history of disinvesting or ignoring Black communities,” says Sharon Gary-Smith, former executive director of the MRG Foundation and member of the council. “This is a major effort for a specific time, during a pandemic, to provide investment in people to be whole in this moment. That for me personally, as a native-born, Black Oregonian, is a major step.”  Oregon Live

There is no way that this is constitutional and to segregate based of color is nothing more than hate and division.  Americans of all cultures and colors are currently suffering financially, that is what these politicians are supposed to focus on.

We should be doing everything we can to help one another as well as making sure the government on all levels are serving the people.  That means, as Americans, these politicians are public servants that are supposed to help all Americans, especially during the global pandemic.

As Breitbart reports, at the time, the Oregon Legislative Counsel warned that the program might be unconstitutional, especially because the legislature had not shown evidence that past discrimination was responsible for black Oregonians’ suffering during COVID:

As discussed below, we think the program may potentially, but would not necessarily, violate the equal protection clause of the United States Constitution and the privileges and immunities clause of the Oregon Constitution.

Under the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits states from denying “equal protection of the laws” to individuals, state laws that classify individuals according to race or gender are subject to special scrutiny.

We are not aware of any evidentiary findings by the legislature or the Emergency Board in support of the OBDD grant program at issue here. Without any such findings, the program would almost certainly be unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment.

Article I, section 20, of the Oregon Constitution, prohibits the state from providing privileges or immunities to a class of citizens if the privileges or immunities do not apply on the same terms to all citizens.

The first lawsuit filed against the Oregon Cares Fund, was from a logging company, Great Northern Resources.  A federal judge already has ruled against the logging companies attempt to block the funds from further distribution.

The second lawsuit was filed by an Mexican-American woman who owns a local coffee house, Revolución Coffee in downtown Portland.  Almost immediately she was called a racist and anti-blackness by the far left.

I do not know how anyone could argue that this is a good idea and that it is not causing further hate and fueling the fires of racism.

Don’t get me wrong- I am happy that the Blacks are getting much needed help but what about the rest of us? This makes no sense.

A nation divided will crumble and fall, while a nation united as one could achieve greatness.  This pandemic is not racist, COVID-19 does not target a specific culture or race and there fore reliefs funds should not as well.
