EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrested two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members, two migrants with previous convictions for sexual assault of minors, and a Paisa gang member also with a conviction for sexual assault of a minor.

On Oct. 8, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a migrant in Hidalgo. Record checks on Carlos Garcia, a Mexican national, revealed he is a Paisa gang member and was arrested by Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office in 2005 for indecency with a child. He was convicted and sentenced to four years’ incarceration and subsequently removed from the United States.

On Oct. 8, MCS agents apprehended a group of 12 migrants in Hidalgo. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed he is a MS-13 gang member with extensive criminal history in the United States (Florida). He has been convicted for assault and has numerous convictions, by an immigration judge, for being a criminal migrant unlawfully in the United States dating back to 2009.

On Oct. 9, MCS agents apprehended a group of nine migrants south of Mission. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed he is a MS-13 gang member with a previous conviction for attempted second degree murder in Maryland in 2015. He was sentenced to 30 years confinement (all suspended but 5 years) and was subsequently removed from the United States in 2020.

On Oct. 10, Fort Brown Border Patrol station agents apprehended a group of three migrants in Brownsville. Record checks on a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted of aggravated child molestation in Carrollton, Texas, and was sentenced to 10 years’ probation. He was subsequently removed from the United States.

On Oct. 11, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of six migrants near Rio Grande City. Record checks on a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted of sex with a minor (16) in California and was sentenced to 120 days confinement and 36 months’ probation. He was subsequently removed from the United States.

120 DAYS? THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE!

ALPINE, Texas – Alpine Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender early in the morning of Oct. 14, 2021. Texas Department of Public Safety along with Border Patrol Agents from Alpine Station encountered a group of undocumented migrants traveling on Highway 90 west of Alpine. During processing, one of the individuals was discovered to be a registered sex offender. Records show the undocumented migrant, a citizen of Mexico, was charged and convicted of Aggravated Criminal Sex Abuse of a Victim under 13, Sex Offense Against Child-Fondling and was sentenced to 48 months’ Probation on June 25, 2021.

The Mexican national was most recently removed from the United States in August of 2021. He is being referred for criminal prosecution for 8 USC § 1326 – re-entry after deportation. HIDALGO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge apprehended David Michael King, a male U.S. citizen and resident of Missouri and Christopher Colin, a male U.S. citizen and resident of Alton, Texas, both wanted on outstanding felony warrants for sex-related crimes.

“CBP Field Operations is always ready to assist our law enforcement partners in locating those wanted persons with outstanding warrants, especially those allegedly involved in heinous crimes of a sexual nature,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/ Anzalduas. “We also work with our Mexican counterparts to apprehend fugitives.”

On Oct. 13, 2021, officers with the U.S. Marshals Service arrived to the Port of Hidalgo and requested assistance to take custody of David Michael King who is wanted for statutory rape. The 52-year-old man was apprehended by Mexican authorities as he attempted to travel into Mexico. CBP officers took custody of Mr. King at the U.S./Mexico boundary. Once in the secondary area, biometric verification confirmed his identity and the outstanding felony arrest warrant out of Springfield, Missouri. The warrant is for statutory rape, a first-degree felony.

Later that day, CBP officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge encountered Christopher Colin. The 24-year old man arrived from Mexico as a pedestrian at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Colin was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, biometric verification confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrants from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Colin is wanted for sexual assault on a child, a second-degree felony.

Deputies with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office took custody of both individuals and transported them to the Hidalgo County jail. Transport to Missouri will be arranged for Mr. King to face his charges.

Criminal charges are merely allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

 LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Station arrested a convicted sex offender after he crossed the Rio Grande River illegally into the U.S. near south Laredo.

The arrest occurred on October 12, when agents apprehended a group of undocumented individuals near Riverview and Oleander Street in south Laredo.  Among the group was Alejandro Cano-Morales, a 44-year-old Mexican national, who was identified as having an active warrant and a registered sex offender for a 2011 conviction for Child Molestation out of Decatur, Georgia in Dekalb County.

He will be prosecuted for his immigration violation and remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service.
