President Trump ignited a firestorm of controversy on Friday when he came out with heavy-handed remarks about NFL players disrespecting the country, causing some 200 players to protest during Sunday’s game.

Coaches, players, team owners, and trainers alike all felt it was their duty to join together on the field and show solidarity against the President, who merely called for people to respect the country that’s given them everything. But while the NFL is on the wrong side of this debate – very few people in America believe it’s okay to disrespect our nation and those who died for it – NASCAR went a decidedly different direction, with owners condemning the anti-American snots taking a knee.

From one of our previous reports:

Several team owners issued a strict warning to their drivers and crew members in the wake of both comments by President Trump and the protests by NFL players.

Team owner Richard Petty, the NASCAR icon who won a record-tying seven championships as a driver, said he would fire any employee that didn’t stand for the anthem.

“Anybody that don’t stand up for that ought to be out of the country. Period,” Petty said. “If they don’t appreciate where they’re at … what got them where they’re at? The United States.”

Additionally, longtime owner Richard Childress said that any driver or crew member protest will “get [them] a ride on a Greyhound bus.”

“Anybody that works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave our lives for it. This is America,” Childress said.

Childress was the long-time team owner for deceased NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, Sr., who was killed during a race in Daytona. But while Childress and Earnhardt, Sr. were both patriotic Americans, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. seemingly came down on the wrong side of the line on this one.

In an early morning tweet on Monday, NASCAR’s most popular driver appeared to flip the bird at the very people who sponsor his race car – the National Guard – when he sided with the spoiled brats in the NFL.

“All Americans R granted rights 2 peaceful protests
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable-JFK”

Reactions:

You get the idea. Not surprisingly, the number of avowed leftists commenting in support of Jr.’s comments were astounding, which says everything you need to know about them.

But here’s the thing, nobody disagrees with the sentiment that we have the right to peaceful protests. That’s not what this is about.

This entire controversy is about disrespecting the very country that gave you everything, and disrespecting the brave men and women who gave their lives defending that country.

For Jr. to come out in support of those doing both shows he’s either terribly misinformed, or he’s not as conservative as we once believed.

But regardless, this comment from him isn’t going to sit well with his fans, the majority of whom are vehemently opposed to the progressive left’s attempts to undermine patriotism at every turn, which is what led to these ridiculous protests to begin with.
