Three people accused in the murder of MMA fighter “The Matzoh Brawler” – including a 16-year-old girl – were denied bail Saturday after being charged in the killing during a Florida home invasion in July.

The girl, Summer Church, of Boca Raton, and 18-year-olds Roberto Ortiz, of Boynton Beach, and Jace Swinton, of Margate, are facing first-degree murder charges as adults in the July 3 shooting death of 25-year-old mixed martial arts fighter Aaron Rajman, an Orthodox Jew. They appeared before a judge in West Palm Beach, Fox News reported

Summer Church, Roberto Ortiz and Jace Swinton are also charged with two counts of home invasion with a firearm or other deadly weapon.

The mother told the Palm Beach Post that Summer and Rajman were acquaintances who met in January at a convenience store. She said at the time her daughter was dating Swinton.

Swinton, who was then dating Summer, also met Rajman and had been to his house.

Judi Church, who went to her daughter’s arraignment, has told local media that cops are accusing Summer of being the mastermind, but she says her daughter is an innocent victim who was used to set-up Rajman.

She told the Florida Sun-Sentinel that a group of men that inlcuded Ortiz and Swinton forced her daughter at gunpoint to get in a car and call Rajman to see if he was home.

“My daughter was held at gunpoint and forced to make a phone call to him,” she said adding, “She’s not a bad kid. She’s trying to do good in school this year, and she wants to go to nursing school.”

“The state attorney needed to arrest somebody, and they decided she was the criminal mastermind behind all this even though she told them everything she knows,” she said.

Judi Church said Rajman didn’t answer and wasn’t home when Summer Church called, and that the men dropped her off in Sandalfoot Boulevard. “The detectives know she wasn’t in the car when it happened and they know she was forced to get in and make that phone call, yet they still came and arrested her [on suspicion of] first-degree murder.”

Judi Church said the group of men knew her daughter and Rajman were friends, and used her to their advantage to get to him.

Friends raised more than $27,500 on a account for Rajman’s funeral.

“He was always smiling, never had a bad day,” Lamar Brown, a 27-year-old lightweight who trained alongside Rajman, said shortly after his death. “But as nice as he was outside the cage, he was just as tough inside it.”

Court records show that Ortiz was arrested by PBSO deputies in January after he allegedly pointed a gun at a 16-year-old boy in suburban Lake Worth. During the incident, Ortiz allegedly punched and kicked a second person and fired a gun shot at a third.

“I’m grateful they were caught,” Rajman’s girlfriend Emily Imber told the Post. “I hope they get all of them. This has been devastating.”

Let’s hope these scumbags get life in prison.

Rest in peace brother.

God Bless.
