Police Say 3 Deaths Could Be Work Of Serial Killer ‘Terrorizing’ Tampa…

Authorities in Tampa, Florida believe a serial killer may be on the loose in Seminole Heights. Police are encouraging people to travel in groups and not walk alone at night in the neighborhood.  This comes after the third person was shot to death in just 10 days.

Police are certain that all three of the murders are connected to one another, despite the appearance the victims did not know one another. Residents of the Tampa-area neighborhood are naturally frightened and are doing what they can to take their neighborhood back.  Many residents walked the streets of the area on Friday evening chanting “Whose streets? Our streets!” just one day after 20-year-old Anthony Naiboa’s body was found on a neighborhood sidewalk.

Naiboa died from multiple gunshot wounds. He suffered from autism and he is believed to have accidentally taken the wrong bus home from work when he was shot.

Local police had already increased patrols in the area after the first two murders occurred.  As a result, they heard the shots that killed Naiboa.  He was killed just 100 yards away from the first victim – Benjamin Mitchell.  Mitchell was shot on October 9 at approximately 9:00 p.m. EST while waiting at the bus stop near his home.

22-year-old Mitchell was alone at the time of his death. With no criminal background, he was said by police to have been a “good person from a good family.”

The second victim was 32-year-old Monica Hoffa.  Her body was found in a vacant lot owned by the city of Tampa not just 10 blocks away on October 13 – a mere 2 days later. Local authorities have thus far declined to reveal if the same caliber firearm or the same type of ammunition, or even the exact type of firearm that was used in all three murders.

The victims have no known connections to one another other than they were all bus riders.  They have all been killed within a 1-mile radius of each other in actions that police state are terrorizing central Tampa’s Seminole Heights neighborhood.

Interim Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said at a Friday press conference –

“When you look at the time frame, the proximity, that there is no apparent motive, that they are alone ― the victims are a lot of the time ― it’s clear to me that they’re all linked.

This is very frustrating. We have someone terrorizing the neighborhood. It’s just difficult to see this happening.

We’re not going to be held hostage by whoever is doing this. We need everyone to come out of their homes at night, turn on their porch lights and just not tolerate this type of terrorism.”

The FBI used to define a serial killer as someone who killed three or more individuals, with a “cooling off period” of more than a month between each slaying. However, the FBI in recent years redefined the criteria. A serial killer is now defined as the “unlawful killing of two or more victims by the same offender(s), in separate events.”
