Top Cop Calls For The HEADS Of Sanctuary City Leaders

City leaders around the country have been pushing back hard against President Trump’s promise to uphold the laws Congress passed to regulate immigration in our nation, but a top cop from Massachusetts is pushing back on them even harder.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson testified to the House Committee on Illegal Immigration on Tuesday, and his comments should have those protecting illegal immigrants on high alert.

Hodgson told the committee that sanctuary cities “have become magnets for illegal aliens, some of which have violent criminal records,” and because the elected officials are aiding and abetting criminals, he says we need to take definitive action to stop them, CBS Boston reported.

Hodgson singled out Massachusetts State Rep. Michelle DuBois for alerting illegals in her city of raids that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had been planning for Tuesday and Wednesday, calling her duplicitous actions “outrageous,” and accusing her of making the jobs of law enforcement harder than they need to be.

Here’s what this liberal illegal alien lover posted on her Facebook page:

“If you get picked up by ICE call legal services direct line for immigration help: 774-488-5961

I got the following information from my friend in the Latin community:

“I have a message for the immigrant community of Brockton. Please be careful on Wednesday 29. ICE will be in Brockton on that day.

If you are undocumented don’t go out on the street. If there is a knock on the door of your house and you don’t know who it is, don’t open the door. I ask you to be careful.”

Update: It is obvious that this post has touched off a lot of controversy.

To be clear: I am just forwarding a rumor that is all over Brockton. Actually I’m helping ICE to know (if they didn’t already) that the raids they are planning are already known about in the City.

I hope we can work on all the other issues together and that this one difference of opinion does not hurt our working relationship.

Public Response at 2:33pm 3/28 to this Facebook post:

“It is obvious that my Facebook post touched off a lot of unintended controversy.

I am an elected State Representative and the response to one facebook post has caused people from across the Nation to inundate my facebook page with some pretty ugly and threatening posts. If this is what happens to an elected representative – what must be happening to immigrants every day in our Nation, both documented and not documented.

I posted on my personal and public facebook page about a rumor about an ICE raid happening on two future dates. I had heard this rumor from several immigrants in the community.

There are many people in Brockton (documented and not) as well as people across this Nation who are terrified. This rumor of an ICE raid in Brockton was wide-spread in Brockton. There have been many ICE raids in the City.

Passing information along that is already all-over the community, not only lets the people I represent know what is happening, it lets ICE know that everyone in Brockton is aware of ICE’s planned raid (if there was one).

Having ICE know that this rumor is wide-spread in Brockton allows them to change the date if they feel the public’s knowledge of the raid would undermine their planned raid. So I do not agree with Sheriff Hodgson on his point that he made before a federal panel in WashingtonDC that my public facebook post in anyway undermines law enforcement.”

“This is the most outrageous, outrageous example of what is going on across the United States that is undermining my job and every other law enforcement officer in the United States,” he said.

Hodgson, an outspoken sheriff who believes in the rule of law, called illegal immigration the biggest threat to public safety there is, and he would know being on the ground and having to deal with it. Because of this, he has a bold solution for elected officials who actively engage in harboring illegals – lock them up.

“If these sanctuary cities are going to harbor and conceal criminal illegal aliens from ICE, which is in direct violation of Title 8 of the U.S. Code, federal arrest warrants should be issued for their elected officials,” Hodgson testified. “Our citizens would be safer if we never stopped enforcing immigration law and if we never formed or turned a blind eye toward sanctuary cities.”

Boom! Straight from the horse’s mouth, as they say.

Sheriff Hodgson is right. For too long, lawlessness has gone unpunished, thus leading elected officials to believe they won’t be held accountable for breaking the law and creating an environment where they brazenly ignore federal immigration statutes simply for the fact they dislike them.

But you can bet your bottom dollar that if Attorney General Sessions starts issuing warrants for the arrests of sanctuary city leaders, that sanctuary cities would evaporate almost instantly, which would be a win/win for the American people; illegals wouldn’t have anywhere to hide which would encourage them to self-deport, and arrogant politicians who think the law doesn’t apply to them would be given a reality check.

Who wouldn’t be happy about either?
