There are few things that could start laughter among people that know weapons more than finding stuff that isn’t pure propaganda on CNN. In a September show, Nick Valencia was discussing Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi. Tahmooressi had an AR-15, a pump shotgun and a .45 caliber pistol. According to Valencia, these are military grade weapons.

One thing that is amusing is that a pump shotgun is a staple for those who wish to protect their home. They are simple to use and aim. There have been multiple instances where pumping the gun has done more to scare a burglar or intruder than them seeing it. Does the military use them? Yes, but do millions of others. Why not say they are skeet shooting caliber weapons.

When handgun folks get together, there is always an argument over which is the best caliber. It can get rowdy, but it is always fun. A .45 has some stopping power, but a nice kick. The military uses the M9, which is a 9 mm. The .45 is also an expensive firearm because the bullets are higher priced. So, no idea why this is termed as a military caliber weapon.

Here is where there will be complaining. I consider the M-16 a horrible weapon and refuse to use the AR-15. People brag about the reliability of it, though. The accuracy of the M-16 and the Armalite Rifle-15 is the same, but I can be as accurate with a Remington .22 if I want to use a smaller caliber. That still doesn’t mean that one of the most popular rifles is anything but a rifle. So, no, while based on a Tonka toy military rifle, it isn’t military caliber.

The propaganda that says firearms need to only be in the hands of the military or law enforcement is just that. Firearms are a major business and a way to allow people to protect themselves. There, if done responsibly, is a lot of fun to be had with them. Valencia needs to talk to real gun people, not liberals.
