Former FBI Director James Comey testified under oath to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, and he was busted in one whopper of a lie by President Trump’s attorney.

Attorney Mark Kasowitz delivered a statement following Comey’s testimony, and in it he explained how the President was now vindicated of the allegations against him while completely destroying Comey’s credibility. During the hearing, Comey told the committee that he leaked private conversations because of a tweet that he had seen from President Trump, but it turns out that wasn’t the case.

In fact, Comey admitted to instructing a “friend” to leak details of a memo he had taken regarding a conversation he had with the President because he allegedly wanted to set the record straight. However, Kasowitz revealed that details from the same memo were published by the New York Times the day before the tweet in question was ever sent.

Comey FALSELY claimed he leaked private conversations because of Trump’s tweet — which wasn’t published until the following day after the leak!

Kasowitz: Comey testified that he only leaked the memos in response to a tweet. The public record reveals that The New York Times was quoting from those memos the day before the referenced tweet.

For those unaware, that’s perjury; knowingly making false or misleading statements while under oath.

Unfortunately for Comey, perjury is also a crime.

Now let’s see if anything is done about it.
