Members of a group called Respect the Flag drove through a neighborhood in Douglasville, Georgia sporting Confederate flags on their vehicles when they were involved in an altercation with residents outside a home where a children’s birthday party was taking place. As a result the Confederate flag flying members have been indicted on charges of TERRORISM!

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there are 2 sides to the story.

Levi Bush, who was driving one of the trucks, says the videos show the unfortunate ending of an unintentional encounter — one triggered, in fact, by the people at that birthday party. He told the paper the convoy had been attacked by black residents throwing rocks, and after he got a flat tire the residents swarmed his truck and threatened him.

The black residents said the flag-flyers entered their neighborhood and started shouting racial slurs.

“One had a gun, saying he was gonna kill the n******.” One woman claimed, adding “Then one of them said, ‘Gimme the gun, I’ll shoot them n******.”

On Monday the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office released a letter stating that following an investigation by local police and the D.A., a grand jury handed down indictments charging individuals from Respect the Flag with violations of the state’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act and making terroristic threats.

Bush, the leader of the caravan of trucks, told the AJC that his group is called “Protect the Flag” and is not a hateful one. They “drive around and sell flags,” he said, with all of the proceeds going to veterans or toward purchasing new American flags for those in need.

Bush said his group was leaving a nearby event when they drove by Alford’s home and the party goers started yelling at the trucks in front of him. They then threw rocks at his vehicle, he said.

Bush said he fishtailed while trying to drive away, then ran over a median and got a flat tire. When he pulled into a nearby driveway, the party goers swarmed and made threats, and his friends backed him up, he said.

“Basically about eight of us had to hold 15 to 20 of them back,” Bush said, admitting that a specific racial slur was likely used by members of his group.

The Douglas County district attorney, announced the indictments in a news conference Monday morning. Each of the 15 was indicted on one count of making terroristic threats and a second count of unlawfully participating in “criminal gang activity.”

Regardless of what actually happened, it’s clear that TERRORISM charges are completely over the top. Muslims shoot up military bases or recruitment centers screaming ‘ALLAH AKBAR’? THAT’S TERRORISM. Obama has ruined America. Unbelievable…

Editors note: It is unclear whether the group’s name is Protect the Flag or Respect the Flag.
