JUST IN: Congressman Steve Scalise Makes STUNNING Statement On Guns Following Vegas [Video]

Congressman Steve Scalise of Louisiana knows a thing or two about gun violence because he was the victim of a far-left Bernie Bro who opened fire during a baseball practice in Washington.

However, unlike other victims of violence, Scalise isn’t foolish enough to believe that the tools used to commit violent acts are to blame for the violent acts themselves. In fact, following the massacre on the Las Vegas Strip, Scalise not only refused to back any further gun control measures, but he said the incident “fortified” his belief in the Second Amendment.

Now that’s real leadership.

From Breitbart:

During a portion of an interview set to air on Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” House Majority Whip Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA) stated that his position on the 2nd Amendment has been “fortified” by the Las Vegas shooting and his own experience with the Congressional baseball shooting and that promoting political agendas shouldn’t be the first thought after tragedies.

Keep in mind, Scalise nearly lost his life to violence from a far-left radical, but even still, he doesn’t believe our rights should be limited due to the actions of one or two individuals. To the contrary, Democrat Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was also shot by a far-left radical during a campaign stop a few years back, and ever since, she and her husband have been beating the gun control drum so hard they’re about to punch a hole in it.

In fact, before the bodies were even cold in Las Vegas, Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, were in full leftist mode and politicizing a tragedy in an attempt to push their anti-freedom agenda.

From AZ Central:

“Until we seriously accept this — and the people in that building (the Capitol) accept this — as a serious public health crisis, we will have other mass shootings like this,” Kelly said.

Kelly, who with his wife founded the gun-control organization Americans for Responsible Solutions, acknowledged he and Giffords have made similar pleas in the past that have yielded little. He cited the “polarization of our politics” and a well-financed gun lobby.

“Right now, they’re going in the wrong direction,” Kelly said of Washington. He pointed to bills that would allow silencers to be made more widely available and allow gun owners to transport their guns more easily in any state if properly permitted in one state.

To be clear; there’s no such things as a “silencer.” They’re called “suppressors, and they don’t actually “silence” anything; they merely lower the sound levels of the report so that your ears don’t suffer as much damage.

So there you have it. On one side, you have a courageous man who stands by his convictions even after a tragedy, and on the other, you have opportunists looking to capitalize on the tragedy so they can attack our Constitutional rights.

Is there any wonder Democrats keep losing elections?
