Cop Gets NASTY Surprise After Stopping Thugs For Speeding, Then THIS Happens

A Georgia police officer learned first-hand just how dangerous some thugs can be after a routine traffic stop turned out to be anything but routine, now he’s recovering in the hospital after needing surgery from his wounds.

When Harris Country Sheriff’s Deputy Jamie White pulled over 24-year-old Joe Lee Garrett, he had no idea that his life was about to be changed forever after Garrett would do the unthinkable. The Daily Caller reports that immediately after giving White his driver’s license, Garrett, who’s a convicted felon, pulled out a pistol and shot the deputy once in the face before speeding off.

The bullet hit White right above his left eye, immediately causing him to fall to the ground as Garrett sped away thinking he wouldn’t get caught. Unfortunately for Garrett, White still had his license and as soon as backup arrived at the scene of the shooting, a massive manhunt was underway for the violent suspect.

After several hours on the run, Garrett spoke with family, who told him that police were hunting for him. Realizing he had no way out, the felonious thug drove down to the police station and turned himself in.

Police also arrested Lytishia Horace, saying she is connected to the shooting. Police said two women were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday on a variety of charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony obstruction, fleeing and attempting to elude, and possession of a firearm during a felony.

As for White, he’s now recovering in the hospital after needing surgery to repair the damage to his face from Garrett’s attempt on his life. Sheriff Mike Jolley said that after surgery, White is “doing much better,” but still has a long road to recovery ahead. The only fortunate part of this incident is the fact that the bullet missed White’s brain, giving him a better chance of a full recovery.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a law on the books or any laws even being considered that would have stopped this violent felon from getting a gun and shooting Deputy White. He showed he has no respect for the law, which means that creating even more laws wouldn’t do anything to deter his behavior.

This story just goes to show you that if the do-gooders pushing for more restrictive gun laws get their way, then the only people with guns will be police and criminals, which means the rest of us will be defenseless. It’s just too bad that those pushing for such measures are either too blind, or too dumb to realize it, because all they’re really doing is placing the rest of us in danger.
