“A security force rushed to the blast site and cordoned it off,” the source said, adding that the body of the victim was moved to the forensic medicine department, while the injured were carried to the nearest hospital for treatment, Iraqi News reported.

Yesterday AFF Media reported that at least three people were seriously wounded as a bomb exploded near a crowded market west of Baghdad, security sources reported on Saturday.

“A bomb went off near a market in al-Nasr wal Salam region in Abu Ghraib district, west of Baghdad, leaving at least three people wounded,” the source told Baghdad Today website.

“Ambulances arrived to the blast spot to transfer the injured to nearby hospital, before security troops arrived to conduct investigations,” the source added.

The conditions of the wounded have not been reported.

The scene was described as chaotic.

There would have been many more casualties if the bomb had been placed in a different location.

Earlier this week, around 20 ISIS militants were killed as Iraqi forces, backed by PMFs, clashed with ISIS militants at al-Saadiya village in Hawija, news reported quoted sources as saying. 15 others are still trapped inside the village. PMFs media service said on Saturday that troops, assisted by Federal Police troops, killed five members of ISIS and besieged two others during a raid on their hideout in Tuwairiya, Abbasi, northwest of Hawija.

A total of 91 Iraqi civilians were killed and 208 others were injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in February, according to the monthly report issued by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

Thousands of ISIS militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition, was launched in October 2016 to fight the militant group, Iraqi News reports.

As many as 3,298 civilians were killed and 4,781 others were wounded in 2017, excluding Anbar civilian casualty figures for November and December, which are not available, UNAMI said in a report in December.

The Iraqi capital has seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks against security members, paramilitary troops and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake Islamic State-occupied areas in 2016.

Though most of the daily bombings go without a claim of responsibility, Islamic State has declared it had been behind many.

Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of Islamic State extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

The surge in violence between armed groups and government forces has resulted in over 3 million internally displaced persons across Iraq and left more than 11 million in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

In December, Abadi announced full liberation of Iraqi lands, declaring end of war against ISIS members. However, Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

God help these people.

These maniacs are like cockroaches.

God Bless.
