Dentist Office In This State Needs Your Help This Holiday Season To Help People Stay Warm!

Let’s do some good for our fellow Americans, the homeless, Veterans and the children in desperate need of something as simple as gloves this winter.

Winter is the hardest time for our homeless community. When the temperature dips below freezing it creates a severe risk for hypothermia, and the consequences can be fatal. Thankfully, this year a Dentist Office has stepped up and is asking for clothing donations for those in need of a hand up, not a hand out during the holiday season.

You heard that right, I know, everyone hates going to the dentist and we all know they have a reputation as lunatics that enjoy torturing by way of the evil drill and shots, so many shots!  Ok, maybe that is just my take on them but come on, going to the dentist, I would rather go punch a grizzly bear in the face and make fun of his momma, than sit in the chair and get tortured.

All those people burning their NFL clothes, STOP and donate them to keep someone warm this year.  Throwing out clothing because it no longer fits?  STOP and send it these ladies so they can give a hand-up, to someone in need and their lives will be a little warmer this year, because of you!

Dr. Hahn is originally from Olathe, KS, and eventually chose to follow in her father’s and grandfather’s footsteps to continue their legacy of practice in dentistry. She attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, and then went on to KU to study Biology. She chose the School of Dentistry at University of Missouri-Kansas City for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There she spent four years tolerating that Mizzou hostility toward her devout Jayhawk loyalties (among many other activities!) before graduating in 2006. Dr. Hahn’s interests outside taking care of patients include: spending time with her four children, Hadley, Henry, Frankie & Fiona, advocating for victims of domestic violence, advocating for adoption, fitness and health via The Bar Method and yoga practice, KU basketball, volunteering, aviation, anything outdoors, reading, tech geekishness and gadgetry, playing practical jokes, and having lots of fun! Dr. Hahn is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Kansas Dental Associations, the Flying Dentists Association, American Academy of Women Dentists, American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Society of Dentistry for Children.

Dr. Driscoll grew up in Bolivar, a small town in Southwest Missouri. She and Dr. Hahn were classmates and friends in dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Driscoll completed the 6-year BA/DDS program at UMKC in 2006, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She went on to complete an Advanced Education General Dentistry residency at the University of Michigan. During her residency, Dr. Driscoll received extensive training in all aspects of dentistry, with a focus on esthetics and advanced restorative procedures. Aside from taking care of patients, Dr. Driscoll enjoys spending time with her husband Andy and their son, Jack, snowboarding, water skiing, tennis, reading, dental seminars, cooking, and eating good food. Dr. Driscoll is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the International Association of Orthodontics.

I know there are a lot of places that rip people off during the holiday season and other places actually will keep a lot of the stuff for themselves and staff, then donate the left overs.

I personally know these ladies and the office, they are a great group of women that are doing a wonderful thing for the Holidays.  I encourage you to donate to their cause, a blanket, coats, hoodies, gloves, whatever you can spare.

All of the donations will be handed out to those in need and you will be making a huge difference in someones life.

Think of the children, those little ones who are right now shivering as their little teeth chatter away and they have those big eyes that look to adults to help them stay warm.  Can you watch others suffer and freeze as you sit all comfy and warm?  What are you, a Dentist?!?!  You animals!!!

HEHE  Ok, seriously though, it takes very little effort to make a difference, so please send whatever clothing or blankets you can to:

Rhoades Family Dentistry

13400 S Blackbob Rd
Olathe, KS 66062

Please include a little note that Badger asked for your help and who you are, if you would like to remain anonymous, that is understandable.

I would love to hear how their office was flooded with donations and that they were overwhelmed by the generosity of the American public.  Please, share this and let’s donate and help those in need. Remember, it is not a hand-out but a hand-up during the Holiday Season!

Let us hope for a beautiful Thanksgiving and a safe and wonderful merry Christmas for all this year, especially those in need of a hand-up.
