Despite the repeated promises that people will be able to keep their doctors if they like them, President Obama admitted “many folks” may have to switch doctors in an interview with the medical website WebMD, the Daily Caller reported Friday.

“For the average person,” he admitted, “many folks who don’t have health insurance initially, they’re going to have to make some choices. And they might end up having to switch doctors, in part because they’re saving money.”

The admission stands in stark contrast to promises Obama made regarding the massive law.

“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan,” claims a White House document on the health care reform law.

Obama also made the claim in 2009 while speaking to the American Medical Association.

“[N]o matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what. My view is that health care reform should be guided by a simple principle: fix what’s broken and build on what works,” he said.

Ironically, the White House document is entitled, “Health Insurance Reform Reality Check.”

The document also claims to “dispel” what it calls “outlandish rumors and myths.”

But it seems the only myths being spread are coming from the administration and supporters of Obamacare.

According to the White House document, there are no exorbitant out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles or co-pays. But many are finding out the hard way that is not the case.

As the Daily Caller notes, Obama’s claim that people could keep their insurance was called the “lie of the year” by Politifact.

Even the World Socialist Web Site noted the high costs associated with Obamacare.

“People shopping for insurance coverage on the exchanges set up under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) are discovering that the plans with lower premiums come with high deductibles, large out-of pocket costs for prescription drugs, and other cost-sharing,” Kate Randall wrote last December. “These costs will undoubtedly mean a reduction in medical services for the insured, who will be discouraged from seeking treatment for themselves and their dependents because they cannot afford the upfront payments.”

In February, Jim Angle reported at Fox News that those with serious pre-existing conditions could face extremely expensive drug costs under Obamacare. Worse yet, those costs do not apply to the deductible.
