State Of Emergency Declared-1000 National Guard Troops Activated… MASS Riots Expected

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY in response to violent protests in Atlanta over the killing of ‘environmental activist’ Manuel Teran.

Kemp has deployed the National Guard in anticipation of continued protests over a proposed Atlanta police training facility.

As part of the emergency declaration, Kemp has asked that 1,000 Georgia National Guard troops be made available by the Georgia Department of Defense, Yahoo News reports.

Kemp specifically referenced the burnt car in his declaration of the state of emergency.

“Masked activists threw rocks, launched fireworks and burned a police vehicle in front of the Atlanta Police Foundation office building,” the declaration read, in part. “Georgians respect peaceful protests, but do not tolerate acts of violence against persons or property.”

The state of emergency declaration authorizes the Georgia National Guard to be used in response to continued protests. Activated troops will have “the same powers of arrest and apprehension as do law enforcement officers.”

According to the order, the troops will be called up to active duty as necessary.

The State of Emergency will stay in effect until Feb. 9.

The protests were violent with protesters shooting fireworks, smashing windows, setting a police cruiser on fire and smashed the windows of several businesses.

Six individuals, none of which resided in Atlanta, were arrested on charges including domestic terrorism and explosives were recovered.

This violence occurred among hundreds of demonstrators who were mourning the death of the activist, known as Tortuguita, who was killed by authorities while protesting the construction of a public safety training center.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated that Tortuguita had shot and seriously injured a state trooper before being killed.

Atlanta police released a statement on Thursday afternoon that read:

“We are closely monitoring the events in Memphis and are prepared to support peaceful protests in our city. We understand and share in the outrage surrounding the death of Tyre Nichols. Police officers are expected to conduct themselves in a compassionate, competent, and constitutional manner and these officers failed Tyre, their communities and their profession. We ask that demonstrations be safe and peaceful.”

So get ready for riots folks!
