The media out there would have you believe that the police only abuse “minorities.” Well, that isn’t the case. As reported a few months ago, the Laurens County Sheriffs Department in Georgia killed successful business owner David Hooks in an assault that should never have happened. Technically, it should be called a raid, but what else do you call a late night run on a house of a couple that owns two businesses and not trouble for the law? The autopsy has now revealed that two shots came from behind, in what the family attorney says seems like it was while he was on his back.

The background

The people who have no critical thinking skills or much else have whined that the previous article, that had the facts, had no background. Well, since they can’t read, let me retell the story.

  1. David Hooks was robbed by several people just days before the assault on his home. They stole guns and a vehicle. When one of them was found, he was a known meth head who claimed that he “found” meth to try to get a deal after being arrested.
  2. David Hooks has two businesses. One of them is on military bases, which required Mr. Hooks to go through yearly vetting by the DOD and Homeland Security. In other words, he needed to stay away from illegal activity.
  3. The assault on the Hooks’ residence took place at almost midnight by officers who came in like they were going into a combat zone.
  4. Hooks was defending his home from what he and his wife believed was an invasion. He was in his own home with a legal firearm, not out on the streets committing any crime.

The disturbing wounds

Here, via Channel 13 WMAZ in Georgia, is what was found in the autopsy.

Shook, who is representing his family, says the raid was illegal and has asked the FBI to investigate. He says officers were looking for drugs in the home, but didn’t find any. Shook says the officers fired 17 shots inside the home and struck Hooks. He says Hooks had four wounds, two of which he says are very problematic. Shook says that’s according to the Laurens County EMS records. He says the same information is found in the medical records from Fairview Park Hospital. “One was to the side of the head, the other, was in his back, the back of his left shoulder, based on the evidence we see, we believe that David Hooks was face down on the ground when he received those last two shots,” says Shook. Shook says they have not received the autopsy yet from the GBI.

There is no national media outcry. There is no Al Sharpton trying to make money and more fame from this shooting. It is simply a business owner who provided jobs. He was someone without a criminal background. He was someone who truly was a productive member of society. So, the national media will not cover the killing of this man.
