HUNY BADGER AMERICA’S FREEDOM FIGHTERS –

US Defense Secretary James Mattis made a private visit to America’s nuclear base in North Dakota Thursday to ensure the maintenance of the military’s many nuclear weapons in the event they are ever needed by the president for use on the Korean Peninsula.

Mattis would not allow reporters to watch as he met with US forces at the Minot Air Force Base, where 150 ICBMs equipped with nuclear weapons stand ready to launch at a moment’s notice. Mattis also was in Omaha, Nebraska Thursday to meet with USAF Gen. John E. Hyten, chief of US Strategic Command, where the Pentagon chief received a classified briefing, Sputnik News reports.

SOD James Mattis has a simple message for North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, whose forces are preparing yet another underground nuclear test, according to recent imagery intelligence reports: “Don’t try it. It won’t work. You can’t take us out.”

Mattis was taking such a restrained approach that he barred reporters from his town hall-style exchange with airmen on this base that hosts nuclear-capable B-52 bombers as well as the 91st Missile Wing, which has nearly 150 nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles standing ready for launch at a moment’s notice.

On Thursday, Mattis was getting classified briefings at Strategic Command, just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Air Force Gen. John E. Hyten, the head of Strategic Command, would be in command of nuclear forces in the event President Donald Trump ordered them into combat.

Jim Mattis’ visit to this nuclear weapons base Wednesday, stated that America is the elite nuclear power, not intimidated by threats from an upstart North Korean leader who flaunts his emerging nuclear muscle.

SOD James Mattis has previously warned North Korea about their pursuit of nuclear warheads and the intent on striking US mainland and our allies.

“The DPRK must choose to stop isolating itself and stand down it’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.  The DPRK should cease any considerations of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and the destruction of its people.  The United States and our allies have the demonstrated capabilities and unquestionable commitment to defend ourselves from an attack.”

On Thursday, as SOD Mattis carried out his “visit”,  he stated it was part of an effort to ensure that the U.S. maintains the kind of nuclear firepower that convinces any potential nuclear opponent that attacking would be suicidal.

Mattis said his visits to Minot and Strategic Command are intended to inform his “nuclear posture review,” a top-to-bottom reassessment of U.S. nuclear weapons policy. He said the review is nearly complete but he would not cite a target date. A major question posed in the review is how big the U.S. nuclear force needs to be to remain a deterrent to nuclear war.

With the latest launch by North Korea, with an ICBM that went over Japan for a 2nd time within 30 days, it is clear that North Korea continues to ignore all sanctions placed upon them as well as ramping up their ICBM and nuclear warhead programs.

The United States is posturing ourselves now, slowly accepting that diplomacy and sanctions are all but useless when dealing with the DPRK.  Now we are starting to flex and show the military might, in an attempt to wake up North Korea to the fact that they will fall and fall fast and hard should they attack the United States or any of our allies.

The problem with this is that North Korea already knows about our military might and that of our allies.  They are not afraid, because they have Russia and China protecting them, which allows the DPRK to throw its temper tantrums with 0 accountability.

God Bless.
