Ashley Oliver, Justice Department Reporter at Washington Examiner wrote in a report titled ‘Weiss sought authority to prosecute Hunter Biden last year but faced DOJ hurdles’ that then US Attorney, now Special Counsel David Weiss asked officials at the Department of Justice headquarters to grant him the power to prosecute Hunter Biden outside his jurisdiction in February 2022, but the DOJ was not willing to provide him with the authority right away.Instead, according to a transcript of Weiss’s congressional testimony reviewed by the Washington Examiner, DOJ officials directed Weiss to follow a “typical process” that lasted weeks, and Weiss never ended up acting on his request until the following year.
Weiss’s testimony came in the form of a closed-door interview with the House Judiciary Committee this week, where lawmakers repeatedly challenged him on the issue of his authority level over the case.
Anthony Smith at News Hour First reports that [Biden’s bitch] AG Merrick Garland may have been caught perjuring himself before Congress.
Garland had been called to testify before committee on the powers he granted US Attorney David Weiss, who was later named Special Counsel.
During that hearing, Garland stated that he had been asked and granted Weiss the authority to do whatever he thought needed to be done.
Weiss, however, tells a bit of a different story.
Perjury?
Garland testified, “Mr. Weiss asked to be made special counsel.
“I had promised that I would give him all the resources he needed and I made him special counsel.”
He added, “I promised the Senate that I would not interfere… I would not influence the investigation.
BULLSHIT.
COME ON MAN, WE ALL KNOW YOU WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING HIS MASTERS ORDER HIM TO DO.
“I do not intend to discuss internal Justice Department deliberations, whether or not I had them,” Garland said.
TYPICAL POLITICAL BULLSHIT. WORD GAMES.
The key here is that Garland makes it sound as though the moment Weiss came to him, he gave him the authority he needed to press charges against Hunter, but that was not the case.
No, that is not what happened at all.
Weiss actually asked for this authority on February 2022, and he was denied.
So Garland lied- no if’s and’s or but’s.
LIE AFTER LIE AFTER LIE…
When Weiss testified on this, however, he made it sound like it was not a denial, just part of the process, clearly covering for Garland.
He testified, “I asked for something, and in that conversation, they didn’t give it to me.”
On finally being granted the “515 Special Attorney authority,” he added, “You want me to say it’s a denial, but it’s not.
“Not when I know that, weeks later, I was specifically told, ‘You can proceed.’”
Asked for comment on Weiss’s testimony, DOJ referred to the transcript and stated that it “speaks for itself.”
A FEW WEEKS? February 2022 until August 2023 is a year and a half.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Weiss special counsel in August 2023. Garland said at the time that Weiss had requested special counsel authority days earlier. The authority Garland granted Weiss with the special counsel appointment functioned similar to “special attorney” authority in that it allowed Weiss to bring charges outside of Delaware if he saw fit.
Two IRS criminal investigators involved in the case first brought the controversy surrounding Weiss’s authority to light this spring. They alleged the DOJ “slow-walked” the investigation and suggested that Democrat-aligned political appointees working in the department may have impeded Weiss’s prosecution to benefit the Biden family.
The pair of whistleblowers claimed that Weiss told them he asked for elevated authority and that the DOJ denied it. Instead, they said, DOJ officials instructed Weiss in early 2022 “to follow DOJ’s process,” which they said was a blow to the case because the statute of limitations for charges related to 2014 and 2015 would expire that year.
Weiss addressed that claim in his testimony, saying, “It’s not what I said, nor is it what I believed.”
THE CLOCK IS TICKING- HUNTER AND THE BIG MAN COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.
The much-anticipated report Weiss will prepare at the end of his investigation, which is expected to address the open questions about the Hunter Biden case, may not surface anytime soon, either.
The special counsel told the committee he is still looking for staff, saying, “I continue to work on building the team, but I’m not going to get into the particulars.”
Asked about the timetable for the case, he said, “I’m not going to put a time frame on it. As I said previously in response to counsel’s questions, we plan to move as efficiently as possible.”
This is like saying that even though your girlfriend shot you down 10 straight times for a date, she eventually said yes, so those other rejections don’t count.
This sounds like that viral video about “girl math.”
To me, this sounds an awful lot like Garland perjured himself.
Just admit it you scumbags.
You are intentionally slow walking all of this and have no intention of doing shit to the Bidens.
We aren’t stupid.
You bastards are all scumbags.
