Sassy Liberty AMERICA’S FREEDOM FIGHTERS –

The Bonacasa Gold Star family confronted racist and radical leftist filmmaker Spike Lee on his support of the NFL players’ protests during the national anthem in a CNN town hall about kneeling during the national anthem.

Lee appeared as one of the panelists of the town hall alongside Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, former New York Jets player Michel Faulkner, and Former US Army Green Beret Nate Boyer.  Kaepernick credits Boyer as the one who convinced Kaepernick to kneel rather than sit during the National Anthem when the protests began.

Vincent and Diana Bonacasa are the parents of Staff Sargent Louis Michael Bonacasa.  They attempted to explain to Lee how they attended a ceremony for Gold Star parents and after, came home and to see NFL players “taking a knee” and disrespecting our flag.  The Bonacasas attempted to put into words just how it felt to watch that disrespect take place when they themselves were delivered a folded flag rather than their son home and safe, calling it a “slap in the face.”

Staff Sgt Bonacasa was one of six Americans killed when they were attacked by a suicide bomber outside Bagram Air Base, the 31 year-o31-year-old was on his fourth tour in the Middle East and left behind a wife and a young daughter.

Vincent Bonacasa spoke of his son and his thoughts on #takeaknee –

“Last Sunday our community had a celebration for Gold Star parents it was a very humbling ceremony. But it brought us back to the day we lost our son. It was a very empty feeling.

We came home, turned on the TV and there was the NFL players on their knees, that was a slap in the face to us. So my question was how do you support these multi-millionaires on their knees and don’t support what the fallen heroes died for?”

Lee sought to correct what he felt was Bonacasa’s fundamental misunderstanding of the narrative taking place, responding with –

“Sir, I’m very sorry for your loss, but the narrative that you spoke about is not true. All these players have said, many many times that they respect the armed forces. They respect the flag. And they respect America. And this narrative that when they take a knee, it’s insulting your son who is no longer here, is not true. They’ve said that again, and again, and again.”

CNN’s Anderson Cooper looking to stir the pot, fanned the flames interjecting –

“But there’s a lot of people who look at this as disrespectful.”

Lee cut Cooper off pointing out that a great many Americans were offended in 1968 when two black athletes chose to raise their fists in the universal symbol of “black power” at the Olympics, citing a rather infamous incident.

Bonacasa then asked Lee the question on the minds of many Americans, stating –

“Excuse me I have one other question. When North Korea aims a missile at us are these football players gonna be on their knees? Or are they gonna support our veterans?”

Lee responded to Bonacasa’s question with a cheap shot at President Donald Trump, stating –

“Sir, I’m worried just as much about Donald Trump as that crazy guy in North Korea and he has the nuclear codes, I’m worried about that!”

Lee never answers the question asked of him by Bonacasa, just simply defects. Perhaps Lee and many in the NFL would do well to remember the words of Father Dennis Edward O’Brien who himself served as a Marine –

“It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.”

Breitbart reported that Lee said President Donald Trump was acting like NFL 0wners were “plantation owners” when he urged them to fire players kneeling during the national anthem

Lee said, “When he says—he is really telling the owners—like the owners are the plantation owners and the guys playing in the league, they’re on the plantation. You can’t say anything. And so, the thing’s really escalated. And then I get back to it, when you talk about somebody’s mother, that’s a no-no. And he has not apologized at all, so…”

What a worthless scumbag.
