Have You Ever Heard Of Golden Milk? No? Here’s Why You Should Drink It EVERYDAY

Golden Milk and WHY you need to incorporate it in your daily routine…

I wrote this because I believe in the natural science behind it, I do not get a “kickback” or anything from any company for this, I simply believe in nature and want to share healthy options for anyone interested.

Yesterday, or two days ago, you did a hardcore workout for the first time in your life (or for the first time in a while). You finally made the decision to get off the couch and turn off the NFL and get your mind and body on the path to fitness! Now you feel like your muscles have been shredded and the pain kicks your butt every-time you move.

Although you’re probably already familiar, you’ve never been formally introduced to DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

First of all, don’t panic. DOMS is totally natural, and you’re going to be fine.  Embrace the suck!

In short, DOMS is a result of teeny tiny tears in your muscles from really strenuous activity, meaning you did things that your body is not normally used to.

If you’re brand new to working out or have taken a few weeks off only to jump back in at a high level of stress (heavy squats after a few weeks off), think of DOMS like your muscles saying: in exchange for the recovery I have to do, I’m going make YOU feel it. And actually, although it may not feel like it, this process is TOTALLY normal.

How to help your body not only heal faster but ease the pain and shorten the time needed for recovery.

Workout supplements have been a booming business and what people do not realize is, a vast majority of them are not regulated and they are filled with aspartame.

Stop poisoning your body and use nature to not only heal your muscles but also detox your liver and kidneys.

Turmeric has been used for over 2500 years in India. Turmeric (Curcuma longa), the main spice in the Indian dish curry, is arguably the most powerful herb on the planet at fighting and potentially reversing disease. Turmeric benefits include so many healing properties that currently there are over 10,000 medical articles published proving turmeric benefits, especially one of its renowned healing compounds, curcumin.

Of the 10,000+ studies referencing curcumin, the most interesting finding is that when it’s compared to conventional medicine, turmeric benefits equal that of many pharmaceutical medications. In fact, a number of studies have even reported that using curcumin is more advantageous than certain prescription drugs.

When examining the research, turmeric benefits go beyond that of these 12 kinds of conditions and treatments:

  • Anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Antidepressants (Prozac)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Anticoagulants (Aspirin)
  • Pain killers
  • Diabetes drugs (Metformin)
  • Arthritis medications
  • Inflammatory bowel disease drugs
  • Cholesterol drugs (Lipitor)
  • Steroids
  • Skin Care
  • Obesity

Ok, so now we understand Tumeric and that it has literally a vast array of Health benefits as well as backed by medical science and studies.  Now let’s get to the point!

Golden Milk is an ancient Ayurvedic drink made using turmeric and milk – and it’s one of the best ways I know to incorporate turmeric into daily activities.

Making Golden Milk is so easy, and by making a Golden Paste ahead of time, you can enjoy a nice hot cup of Golden Milk in minutes.  Because turmeric is fat-soluble, using virgin coconut oil not only increases turmeric’s health benefits, but it adds one more way to use this healthy fat every day.

If you’ve never tried golden milk, you’re in for a great surprise. Many people enjoy it especially during the fall and winter months (and cold and flu season), but it’s just as delicious and soothing in the summer, too.

One final tip – when cooking with turmeric wear an apron and don’t let your pot boil over. This spice will stain your clothing and counter-tops easily, so unless you want a yellow kitchen, be very careful with spills.

1/4 Cup Turmeric Powder

1 Tbs Ginger

1 tsp Cinnamon

3/4 tsp Black Pepper

1/2 Cup Water

2 Tbs Coconut oil

In a stainless steel pot, combine water, turmeric, and black pepper. It should make a thick paste. Cook and stir for 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add virgin coconut oil, using a whisk to fully mix in the coconut oil. Finally, transfer to a glass jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator.

Literally tons of valuations on recipes for Golden Milk, I chose this one because I know the health benefits of each ingredient.

To use, whisk 1 teaspoon Golden Paste to 2 cups milk of choice, warmed (or the coconut oil will congeal). Add molasses, vanilla, and cinnamon to taste.

Golden Paste can also be used in smoothies, to make salad dressings, in curries, or any way your heart desires.

As with anything in life, research each ingredient and the health benefits that they can provide and how to consume them.  It is up to each person to make their decisions and to do their own due diligence on research and their body.

*Contraindications: Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction. Though turmeric is often used by pregnant women, it is important to consult with a doctor before doing so as turmeric can be a uterine stimulant.
