Sean Brown AMERICA’S FREEDOM FIGHTERS –
A Florida mother of three posted a hopeful message expressing her gratitude after she went from being homeless to earning a generous six-figure income, and just hours later a horrific tragedy struck her family.
Maveka Jenkins was homeless and without direction just a few short years ago when someone from a local church in Lake Worth reached out to her and helped her get on her feet. Fast forward to now, and she earns multiple six-figure incomes and has provided a promising future for her family.
According to the Daily Mail, Jenkins posted to Facebook regarding her success and gratitude to those around her, explaining how “No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business.”
The point she intended to make was “I’m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency.”
A hopeful message, indeed.
However, later that evening, as the family quietly slept at 1:30 a.m., their lives would be changed forever after a vicious thug entered the home carrying a gun. According to reports, the masked intruder held Jenkins, two other adults, and her three children, aged 1, 7, and 13 at gunpoint for some time before one of the victims convinced the thug to let the children go.
The “man” agreed, and the children were ushered into an adjoining room in the home, then the unthinkable happened. Without provocation, the savage animal ordered the adults, including Jenkins, to lie down on their stomachs before he held the gun to the head of Jenkins, who lied there helpless, and squeezed the trigger, striking her once.
The armed coward then stole the family’s vehicle and sped off, only to leave it a few blocks away. Meanwhile, Jenkins was rushed to the hospital, still alive, but would succumb to her injuries a short time later, leaving her family in total despair.
More on Mrs. Jenkins from the Daily Mail:
Ms Jenkins made her money running The Prime Enterprise Group, a consultancy firm which helps create business plans for small and medium sized companies.
Speaking about the death, friend Patricia Clarke said: ‘She was a very loving person. She loved her kids, and loved her family and loved her husband.’
Ms Jenkins wed husband Euri in 2011, records show.
According to relatives and the police, Jenkins’ Facebook post may be what led to the coward breaking into her home and committing this atrocious act. The timing, they say, is too coincidental to be overlooked, as it was just a few hours after she created the post that the man broke into their home.
The suspect remains at large, and police are urging anyone with information about him to come forward.
Sadly, Jenkins’ story is a harsh reminder of why it’s a bad idea to divulge such information on a public forum such as Facebook, and a more important reminder of how crucial it is to be armed and properly trained to defend yourself and your loved one.
You never know who’s watching, and as we see daily, it’s nearly impossible to trust someone who isn’t a close friend or relative, so it’s best to keep stories of your success limited to your closest groups of people, and keep your firearm within arm’s reach at all times.
God Bless.
