Here’s Why President Trump NEEDS To Pardon This Army LT. Platoon Leader [DETAILS]

1st Lt. Clint Lorance was convicted in 2013 of two counts of second-degree murder for ordering a private first class to shoot three unarmed civilians. Two of them died while the third ran away.

The lieutenant, a platoon leader from the 82nd Airborne Division’s 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, believed the men, riding a motorcycle, were barreling toward his men in a suicide attack.

Rep. Duncan Hunter had previously gone to Obama and asked to pardon 1st Lt. Clint Lorance.  The Obama administration denied the plea and now that a new administration is at the helm, Rep. Duncan Hunter is renewing his efforts.

Several soldiers under Lorance’s command were provided immunity in exchange they testified that Lorance was reckless, “out of control” and given to harassing locals.

Hunter cautioned against taking testimony of soldiers given immunity in the trial as fact, particularly because their comments spoke to his integrity and personality, rather than the facts on the ground that day.

The situation comes across as a typical Obama head hunting to appease Afghan politics and someone had to pay the price and Lorance was picked.

I wasn’t there, I do not know the 1st LT nor the men under his command that testified.  I do know that officers are not liked by enlisted, the few who are earned that respect.  But in military politics no officer is ever liked by everyone under their command.

It is easy for people to judge based off of words of propaganda and at times, the politicians feed the innocent to appease the hungry.

Soldier’s who were stationed in Afghanistan know the tactics and actions of the enemy. Any time two or more individuals are on a motorcycle approaching your convoy or position you can bet — if unarmed — they are scouts. And if they are scouts for a main attack, they are just as dangerous a threat.

On the modern battlefield, the enemy doesn’t wear a uniform and they exploit our ridiculous rules of engagement — all to the detriment of our men and women deployed into these combat zones.

1st LT Lorance understood this combat environment and the enemy tactics. He was not patrolling in some quiet zone — this was a hot bed of enemy activity, and the reason why he was there was because the previous platoon leader had been severely wounded.

“Now, new evidence in the case is leading to calls for clemency for Lorance. Anna Lorance said the family has not heard anything from the Army since Nov. 30, when their lawyer submitted papers seeking to have the conviction overturned. Lorance said new evidence obtained by the family’s lawyer indicates the men who were shot may actually have had ties to terrorism.”  Lorance’s mother accuses the Army of withholding that information.

How can they call this murder and sentence him to 19 years in military prison when he was deployed to a hot zone, where the enemy is notorious for IED’s and suicide missions?

Was this a witch hunt or did 1st Lt. Clint Lorance give the command for his men to open fire and murder civilians?  This is out of my pay grade and based off what has transpired, maybe, maybe he should be charged with conduct unbecoming but in no way murder.  We hope President Trump pardons 1st Lt Lorance- he is innocent of the crimes he was charged with.
