Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reveals in her new book the awkwardness she felt during her secret meeting with then-Senator Barack Obama after the bitter Democratic primary in 2008.

”We stared at each other like two teenagers on an awkward first date, taking a few sips of Chardonnay,” she said adding that “both Barack and I and our staffs had long lists of grievances.”

CBS has already obtained a copy of the book, which is scheduled for release on June 10.

Clinton wrote that during the meeting she felt like it was “time to clear the air.”

The brutal primary, she wrote, helped make her a tougher person.

“One silver lining of defeat was that I came out of the experience realizing I no longer cared so much about what the critics said about me,” she wrote.
