From the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel late Sunday, bullets rained down killing at least 59 people and injuring more than 500 others attending a country music festival.

They were school teachers and youth football coaches, real estate agents and local business owners.  They were parents, siblings, husbands, wives, neighbors and friends.  School administrators, nurses, veterans and local business owners were among the those killed in the horrific attack.

Sonny Melton, 29, was at the Route 91 Harvest festival with his wife, Heather Melton, celebrating the one-year anniversary of their marriage.

Heather Melton said her husband saved her life while gunfire was hitting the crowd.

“He saved my life. He grabbed me and started running when I felt him get shot in the back,” she said. “I want everyone to know what a kind-hearted, loving man he was, but at this point, I can barely breathe.”

Sonny Melton is from Big Sandy, TN. He was a registered nurse who worked at the emergency room and ICU at Henry County Medical Center. He also assisted his wife in surgery.

NFL owners should fire players who protest during the anthem,  it’s a “disgrace” and “unethical” for players not to show respect to the country and those who risk their lives to protect it. But what happened during Monday Night Football is beyond words, a complete disgrace against humanity and frankly, shows the exact character of the NFL and these protesting cowards.

Lives have been forever changed by the horrific events that took place in Las Vegas, at this time we must set aside our differences and unite.  We must come together as a nation, as a people and heal from this gut wrenching tragedy.

Monday night football told the fans and players that they were dedicating the game to the victims and family of the victims, to those still fighting for their lives.

Now is not the time to get into any politics aver their protests or disgraceful acts, now is the time to come together and heal as a nation.  Instead 2 players from the Kansas city Chiefs sat and refused to stand for the victims, for the families and for the Nation.

Cornerback Marcus Peters and linebacker Ukeme Eligwe were the only two players on either team who decided to sit during the anthem.  They were met with outrage at the Monday night NFL game by refusing to stand for the national anthem in the wake of the Las Vegas massacre.

Peters, who has sat on the bench for the anthem all season, was one of two Kansas City players who failed to stand, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, but the only one shown on camera by ESPN.

The blowback on social media was immediate, with people accusing him of making a divisive political statement with the nation mourning the deaths of 59 people in the Sunday night shooting, the deadliest in modern U.S. history.

“Of all the days for the jerk #MarcusPeters to make his small little stmt,” said @marybrittles on Twitter.

David Wohl, a political analyst and surrogate for the Trump campaign, called Mr. Peters a “miserable ingrate.”

This goes beyond anything that resembles a protest or their rights as players or any of their pathetic excuses for their deplorable behavior towards their nation and those who defend it.

I truly hope the people of this nation see the complete disgrace and ultimate betrayal that these two players from the Kansas City Chiefs have done to the victims and their families.

Make no mistake, their actions were cowardly and disgraceful, neither one should ever be allowed to play any sport in the United States ever again.  This act, to me, should be met with a swift and fierce action that requires them to be fired, fined and banned.  The fines should be sent to the victims GOFUNDME that Vegas set up for the victims and their families.

I encourage you to share this article and have people read it, this needs to be spread like a wildfire.  I truly hope that we can hit back against the NFL and send a direct messgage, “WE WILL NO LONGER TOLERATE THIS FROM ANY PLAYER, ANY TEAM, ANY ORGANIZATION AND THIS STOPS HERE AND NOW!”

We need to demand that these two pathetic scrubs are held accountable for their disgraceful behavior and the NFL needs to be accountable as well.

UNITE and stand for the victims, for their families and for those who are still fighting for their lives.  If you have always been seeking a way to make a difference, a way to fight back against those who are destroying our nation and our way of life, I encourage you to choose this fight.

Boycott the NFL, let us come together and make change happen, change minds and hearts, to unshackle people from their hate and zombified minds.

For those who still support the NFL and teams, you seriously need to let go of your own desires and do what is right.  The people who choose to stand with the NFL and these cowards, that makes you no better than them and part of the problem.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Melton family.

Rest in peace brother.
