Cleveland Police Union asks the Constitution to be suspended during the GOP and could care less if it is legal or not.  Read on for the intel and facts.

A nation torn apart with racism and hate, domestic terror groups ambushing and killing Law Enforcement Officers. This is how far we have fallen and how much further can we fall before we crumble.

In Cleveland, OH, in the wake of the GOP convention that is from July 18^th thru July 21^st, Stephen Loomis, President of Cleveland’s largest Police Patrolman’s Union had the following to say, “We are sending a letter to Gov. Kasich requesting assistance from him. He could very easily do some kind of executive order or something — I don’t care if it’s constitutional or not at this point”

The Police Union is calling on John Kasich, Ohio’s Governor, to freeze the right to carry while the GOP convention is in town.

“They can fight about it after the RNC or they can lift it after the RNC, but I want him to absolutely outlaw open-carry in Cuyahoga County until this RNC is over.”   Stephen Loomis

The current state law in Ohio allows for licensed open carry, exception of a small “secure zone” inside and around the Quicken Loans Arena, residents, delegates and protesters are legally permitted to walk around the city — including within its 1.7 square mile regulated “event zone”.

Clearly no firearm is allowed within 1.7 miles of the GOP convention, per current Ohio firearm laws.  So why call for government action to BAN open carry all together during the RNC?

Governor Kasich responded to the letter from the Police Union with the following statement:

“Ohio governors do not have the power to arbitrarily suspend federal and state constitutional rights or state laws as suggested.”

Loomis clearly is not happy with the response and stated, “We are going to be looking very, very hard at anyone who has an open carry,” he said. “An AR-15, a shotgun, multiple handguns. It’s irresponsible of those folks — especially right now — to be coming downtown with open carry AR’s or anything else. I couldn’t care less if it’s legal or not. We are a constitutional law enforcement, we love the Constitution, support it and defend it, but you can’t go into a crowded theater and scream fire. And that’s exactly what they’re doing by bringing those guns down there.”

Have we become a nation of fear?  To the point that we throw out our Constitution and enact whatever laws they see fit? It is extremely troubling that the Police Union is so blunt and open about disregarding the law as they see needed. These public statements can only add more anger and frustration to an already violent group.

Department of Homeland Security has also stated that they have sent 4,000 “agents” and that private special forces groups have been hired as security. According to Time Selaty, they have informed the Secret Service and will be working and providing everything they need to work in tandem with them.

After today’s ambush murders of Police Officers in Baton Rouge, I fully understand that security and logistics need to be amped up and solidified.  With all the threats by domestic terrorist groups like Black Lives Matter and the New Black Panthers, it is clear that Cleveland has felt a strong need to protect the Police Officers as well as the civilians attending.

With all of the rhetoric and tensions building, Cleveland RNC is building up into a powder keg and any spark could and would set it off.    We all hope and pray that protests will be done peacefully and civilly in accordance with state and local laws.  The local Black Lives Matter group in Cleveland has already stated they will not file for an official right to protest.  That alone is simply more fuel to an already massive fire that is quickly getting out of control.

Obama has openly backed the Black Lives Matter groups and fueled the racial tensions in our nation. We are leaderless and it has never been clearer, The United States is in dire need of a true leader to put an immediate end to this chaos.
