The vessels came within 300 yards of the USS Nitze conducting a high speed intercept and closing within a short distance of Nitze, despite repeated warnings.

The U.S. defense official said that in Tuesday’s incident the USS Nitze tried to communicate with the Iranian vessels 12 times, but received no response. It also fired 10 flares in the direction of two of the Iranian vessels.

The 4 vessels continued to do high speed closures that were deemed threatening by the USS Nitze, Nitze had to finally change course in order to distance itself from the Iranian vessels

In January, 10 U.S. sailors aboard two patrol craft were detained by the IRGC when they inadvertently entered Iranian territorial waters. They were released the next day after being held for about 15 hours.

Here we are once again, dealing with the IRGC, yet 0 response by the U.S. Navy regarding the continued harassment on the Nitze.

The USS Nitze (DDG 94) is a Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and the USS Mason is a (DDG 87) Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.

I was never in the Navy and I am not familiar with the Navy’s maritime law when it comes to such incidents.  I would wager it is an, “Alert, monitor, do not fire unless fired upon” type of measures.

What happened to placing a round across the bow of approaching vessels that ignore coms and warnings?

Obama has devastated our military policies and it is pathetic how we allow our men and women in uniform to sit idle and be spit upon.

We need a POTUS that sends direct and clear message to any and all who oppose the U.S. Military, allow our sailors to do what they do best and be the mighty in the deep. HUA.
