Man Let’s Daughter Die In Car On Father’s Day — Finally Sees Justice

Have you ever felt guilty on Father’s Day? I have, but that’s from the perspective of a son who wasn’t left to die in a car.

A Baltimore man has been convicted and sentenced to 8 years for leaving his 2 1/2 year old daughter in a car for over a day. She died, strapped to a car seat, wondering if her dead beat dad would return. He was drunk.

It’s hard to even think about. How can you leave a child — someone you feed, watch over, put to bed and care about — for a day? And not just any day, but Father’s Day.

This man didn’t deserve to be a father. He doesn’t deserve to have all of his life ahead of him. Only a mindless brute, an immoral thug of the worst kind gets drunk enough on Father’s day while they are caring for a toddler.

Only a man absent a conscience gets behind the wheel of his car, planning to go drink, and brings a toddler with him.

A Baltimore man left his house. A little girl left this world. Hug your kids and be grateful for your own parents. No matter who they are, if you’re reading this they’re far better than this man.

A Baltimore man who left his toddler daughter in a hot car on Father’s Day two years ago has been sentenced to eight years in prison for her death.

Prosecutors say Wilbert Carter went out drinking with a relative on June 21, 2015, to celebrate Father’s Day. When he returned home, he parked his car at a friend’s house and forgot about his 2 1/2 year-old daughter Leasia in her car seat.

Carter didn’t return to the car until 4 p.m. the next day. Temperatures reached 89 degrees that day.

Carter was convicted in December of manslaughter, reckless endangerment and confining an unattended child. The Baltimore Sun reports that Carter was sentenced last week.
