LEGENDARY Conservative Icon Just Endorsed Candidate, It’s NOT Who You’d Think

Legendary conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement ever since the early 60s, when she published her book A Choice Not An Echo, and she’s been at the front of the pro-family movement since 1972. After following the GOP candidates for some time, she finally announced who it is she’d like to endorse, and it’s probably not who a lot of people would think.

The 91-year-old has played a large role in the conservative movement for decades, and even met with President Ronald Reagan at the White House. Friday at noon, she’ll be joined by the president of Eagle Forum, Ed Martin, at a campaign rally for the candidate she believes is the “last hope for America” – Donald J. Trump.

Schlafly and Martin will be at a St. Louis Trump rally, where she’ll personally introduce The Donald before he goes on stage, the Gateway Pundit reported. The sold out event at the Peabody Opera House has been much anticipated, and this massive endorsement is likely to make those in attendance go crazy.

While the endorsement from Schlafly is undoubtedly going to help bolster Trump’s already dominate campaign, it isn’t entirely shocking that she chose the billionaire over others. Back in December, she told World Net Daily that she believed Trump, and only Trump, has what it takes to take on the Washington establishment and fix the many things wrong with America.

“It sounds like Donald Trump is the only one who has any fight in him,” she said. “He will fight for the issues that we really care about and are very hot at the present time, such as the immigration issue. I don’t see anyone else who’s eager to fight.”

Joining Schlafly and Martin in endorsing Trump is also former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, who joined Trump in a press conference this morning to announce his support of The Donald. According to The Hill, Trump said that Carson is to play an integral role in his campaign, and will be focusing his efforts on education.

“I’m going to have Ben very involved with education, something that really is an expertise of his,” the real estate developer said.

Carson also fought back against the relentless attacks against the billionaire, and suggested that the person people see on television doesn’t define who Trump actually is.

“There’s the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there’s the Donald Trump behind the scenes,” Carson said. “They’re not the same person. One’s very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual.”
