Legendary singer Bobby Caldwell, 71 died in his sleep at his New Jersey home according to his wife Mary.
While you may not recognize the singer’s name you will DEFINITELY recognize some of his music which can be heard down below.
His wife reported “he had been ‘FOLXED,’” meaning his body suffered from mitochondrial-level damage due to an adverse effect from a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones, Gary Ray at Resist The Mainstream reports.
Mary announced Bobby’s death on Wednesday, noting that after suffering for the last “6 years and 2 months,” he was now at peace.
“Bobby passed away here at home. I held him tight in my arms as he left us. I am forever heartbroken. Thanks to all of you for your many prayers over the years. He had been “FLOXED,” it took his health over the last 6 years and 2 months. Rest with God, my Love. -Mary Caldwell”

Caldwell is known for classic hits such as “What You Won’t Do for Love,” “Open Your Eyes” and “Coming Down for Love.”
Bobby’s medical condition left him unable to walk for the last five years. In 2022, a family representative revealed the singer was suffering from an adverse reaction to an antibiotic prescribed in 2017.
According to TMZ, Bobby’s medical condition caused “his Achilles tendon to rupture,” which caused chronic pain and an inability to walk.
Caldwell was blessed with a smooth, soulful voice. His 1978 signature hit made it to the top 10 on Billboard and made him a household name. His follow-up self-titled debut album went double platinum, and he enjoyed a notable career as a performer for more than twenty years.
