It is now ILLEGAL to drive with Virginia license plates featuring the Confederate flag, but many citizens plan to defy the ban. That’s right- it is ILLEGAL! UNBELIEVABLE!

Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe called for the ban this summer in the wake of the tragic Charleston church shooting where the accused killer was seen in a photo with a Confederate flag.

Now, it is officially a CRIME to drive with these plates on your vehicle. This is totally outrageous. 

Approximately 1,600 Virginians received a warning letter from the DMV last month informing them that they had until Oct. 4 to turn in their Confederate flag license plates or be charged with a misdemeanor.

Kevin Collier of Suffolk is a commander of the Stonewall Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He has missed the deadline to change the plates and said he has no plans to comply.

“Next thing you know, they’re going to say you can’t wear blue on Monday… or you can’t wear yellow on Thursday. Where’s it going to end?” Collier told WAVY-TV.

The DMV said of 1,600 people in Collier’s situation, only 187 have returned the old plates. Some who didn’t want the new ones sent them back, writing “no thank you,” the department said.

Collier said his great-great-great grandfather fought with the Confederacy.

“I can’t fight on the battlefield like they did, but I can fight however I can in modern times and I’m not giving them plates up,” he said.

The liberal attack on America’s history is totally out of control.
