Racism is alive and well in America today and it seems that some never let a good crisis go to waste.  They attempt to re-make thugs and criminals into heroes and law abiding citizens, attaching racism where it is not and finding fault with even the most innocuous of statements. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are at it again with the shooting death of Alton Sterling.

Alton Sterling was a 37-year-old resident of East Baton Rouge Parrish in Louisana and died on Tuesday as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and back from police. Baton Rouge police said earlier in a statement that uniformed officers responded to a call after midnight Tuesday involving a black male in a red shirt who was selling CDs outside the Triple S Food Mart. Police stated the caller claimed that Sterling was acting in a threatening manner with a gun.  As you may have guessed by the presence of Sharpton and Jackson, Sterling was a black man and both police officers are white.  Did the police murder Alton Sterling? According to compelling evidence presented in Bearing Arms and the Advocate, I don’t believe so — please see links for what I am referring to.

It is also well known by locals that East Baton Rouge Parrish is a very rough area with known gang activity.  Sterling himself had known Blood affiliations as evidenced by the 5 pointed star tattoo that is worn by many members.  The area is known for violence and illegal activity.  Sterling himself had a rather lengthy record — most notably as a registered sex offender which is a matter of public record.

His lengthy criminal record is as follows  —

  • 9/09/96: Aggravated battery
  • 10/31/97: Second-degree battery
  • 1/06/98: Simple battery
  • 5/04/00: Public intimidation
  • 9/20/00: Carnal knowledge of a juvenile
  • 9/04/01: Domestic violence
  • 5/24/05: Burglary of an inhabited dwelling place
  • 7/11/05: Receiving stolen things
  • 9/12/05: Burglary of inhabited dwelling place
  • 3/17/06: Simple criminal damage to property, simple robbery, simple theft, drug possession, misrepresentation during booking, simple battery, aggravated battery
  • 4/12/06: Aggravated battery, simple criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace, unauthorized entry
  • 4/04/08: Domestic abuse battery
  • 6/03/09: Resisting an officer, drug possession, receiving stolen things, possession of stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon with CDs, sound reproduced without consent
  • 10/12/09: Illegal carrying of weapon, marijuana possession
  • 8/13/15: Failure to register as a sex offender
  • 4/08/16: Failure to register as a sex offender
  • 6/14/16: Ecstasy and marijuana possession

As a felon, he was not supposed to be in possession of a firearm, let alone carrying concealed, yet he has multiple charges for doing just that. I’m not saying criminal record allows for execution by cop, what I am saying is that this is not the fine, upstanding individual that Sharpton and Jackson and many others would like us to believe.  Believe it or not, every white on black crime is not as a result of racism.  Much of the story isn’t told by the media — black on black crime is exponentially higher as is black on white crime but for some reason those crimes are acceptable and THIS is not because it does not fit the narrative.

Sterling described himself like this on his Facebook profile —

His friends seem to be actively advocating for violence against police via social media — the account has since been deactivated.

Here’s an interesting bit of information for the race baiters out there — the largest lynching in American history took place just a short ride away in New Orleans on March 14, 1891.  Was it white on black?  You might think so given the time period and what public schools and Sharpton and Jackson would have you believe about the time period.  But no, it was Sicilians.  What was the response of our country’s leaders to the lynchings? Teddy Roosevelt, prior to becoming president of the United States, was famously quoted as saying they were “a rather good thing” in response to The New York Times.  He further stated “… sneaking and cowardly Sicilians, the descendants of bandits and assassins.  Lynch law was the only course open to the people of New Orleans…just a little worse than the Negro, being if anything filthier in [their] habits, lawless, and treacherous.”

Throughout the course of history, EVERY single race has been enslaved and subjugated to another at one point or another. Am I saying it’s acceptable? Absolutely not! What I am saying is that every other race of people seems to have been able to move past it…..to succeed and thrive. My own family is of Sicilian origin. We fled poverty and mob oppression and were PROUD to be here!  With the assistance of the likes of Sharpton and Jackson and their ilk that never let a good crisis go to waste to cry racism, they ensure that those of the black community that have chosen to listen to them will never move past the wrongs done to their people in the past to succeed in the future.
