(Lawrenceville, GA) Sheriff’s investigators served search warrants at a Grayson ranch yesterday after receiving disturbing video from a tipster showing two illegal aliens force feeding a goat cocaine and whiskey.

28 year old Sergio Palomares-Guzman was arrested yesterday at 250 Grayson New Hope Road in Grayson, where he lived and worked as a horse trainer. He is charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals after sheriff’s investigators viewed a video featuring Palomares-Guzman holding the goat’s horns while a second male suspect inserted cocaine into the goat’s nostril. Palomares-Guzman then forced the goat’s mouth open while the second male suspect poured whiskey into the goat’s mouth.

Palomares-Guzman began sharing the video, which ultimately prompted a tipster to notify authorities of the abuse. Palomares-Guzman was taking into custody by sheriff’s investigators and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, where deputies assigned to our 287(g) Unit have since placed an ICE detainer.

The second male suspect and a third male seen in the video remain unidentified. They are believed to reside in North Carolina. The owner of the ranch, who is also Palomares-Guzman’s employer, had no knowledge of the incident, which Palomares-Guzman contends took place on January 2, 2018, until our investigators arrived with search warrants in hand.

The goat was safely transported to the Gwinnett Animal Shelter, where he received a veterinary exam and was given a clean bill of health. Palomares-Guzman waived ownership of the goat this afternoon and the goat is now available for adoption. Anyone interested in adopting the goat can contact the Gwinnett Animal Shelter at 770-339-3200.

It’s hard to imagine how anyone can harm an innocent animal, but it happens every day. It’s up to us to seize every opportunity we’re given to stop it, which is exactly what our sheriff’s investigators did when this disturbing video was brought to their attention.
We appreciate their immediate response and the hard work that came with it. They did a great job and we’re proud of them.
We’re posting our media release with accompanying images below and hope that some kind hearted animal lover will give this goat the home that he deserves.
