BREAKING: Mueller Urged To Investigate Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now being charged to investigate the unsolved murder of Seth Rich by both former U.S. Intelligence and Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman, as well as by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.

Hersh notes that the whistleblowing organization known as Wikileaks stopped releasing hacked emails from the Democratic National Convention after Rich’s untimely demise in 2016.  His murder has never been solved.  Police continue to describe his death as a murder gone wrong, yet none of his belongings were taken after he was shot twice in the back near his Washington, D.C. home. Rich was employed by the DNC during the time emails were being delivered to Wikileaks for publication.

Hersh says in audio recorded by financier Ed Butowsky, who hired private investigator Rod Wheeler to investigate the murder –

“There are no DNC or Podesta emails that exist beyond May 21 or 22, last email from either one of those groups. What the report says is that some time in late spring … he makes contact with WikiLeaks, that’s in his computer. Anyway, they found what he had done is that he had submitted a series of documents – of emails, of juicy emails, from the DNC.”

Hersh states on the audio recording that his information was obtained from a source “on the inside,” a “very high-level guy” who is “unbelievably accurate and careful.” He adds that Wikileaks was able to aquire access to a password-protected Dropbox containing the emails in question.

Burkman sent a letter to Mueller on Tuesday urging Mueller to expand the scope of his investigation to include Rich’s death, believing that Rich himself could be the “missing link.” Mueller has been charged by Democrats to investigate the continued allegations of Russian collusion against the Trump campaign during the 2016 Presidential election.

Burkman stated in his letter –

“(A)s director of The Profiling Project (TPP), the independent, nonpartisan group investigating the murder of Seth Rich, I am formally asking that the special counsel widen its investigation to include this case,” Burkman wrote. “The murder of Seth Rich may be the ‘missing link’ that connects otherwise incongruent events relating to Russia collusion in the 2016 presidential election.”

Julian Assange himself has alluded to the possibility that Rich was a potential source of the DNC leaks in an August 2016 interview. He stopped short of outright confirmation or denial of Rich’s direct involvement, however. There have been links between Rich and Gavin MacFadyen, a now-deceased American investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker, and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time.

For his part, Burkman has stated he is “fairly certain there’s a Russia connection.” As former U.S. intelligence agent, Burkman spent time in the Middle East where he states he “heard from credible sources” that Rich, who was working on voter outreach for the DNC, discovered evidence of Russian hacking. He also stated that roughly a month ago, a source at the DNC told him that in the early summer of 2016, Rich met with Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Kremlin-affiliated lawyer whom Donald Trump Jr. hosted at Trump Tower on June 9 of that year. Burkman believes Rich presented the Russian attorney with the emails in question which were subsequently published by WikiLeaks on July 22, just days before Rich was murdered.

Some present Rich as a Bernie Sanders supporter that was disenchanted with the DNC’s rigging of the primaries in favor of Hillary Clinton despite the clear will of the people. They have presented the theory that Rich may have begun collaborating with Russian agents as a means to thwart Hillary’s election as a result. Burkman simply states of that theory – “I am not entirely sure if Seth was a good guy or a bad guy.” He is offering a $105,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Rich’s killer.

At this time, Department of Justice spokesman, Joshua Stueve, would not comment on Burkman’s letter or even give confirmation that the office had received Burkman’s request.  Stueve is handling all press inquiries for Mueller at this time.
