At the same time the Obama Administration has been focused on outlawing and confiscating guns, it has also been making sure the National Guard is ready to keep American citizens in check.
Reports are surfacing that National Guard training camps are focusing on “controlling civil disturbances” and “suppressing protestors.”
Some people mistakenly think that the National Guard is there to protect civilians from the government because it was formed out of the Militia Act of 1903. This is not the case. The National Guard is governed by the Department of Defense and the President has full control over their activities.
