A home owned by former Miami Heat All-Star Chris Bosh was just recently the target of a police drug trafficking raid. What makes this situation even more difficult for Bosh is that his mother is named as one of the suspects involved.

The DeSoto Police Department in Texas raided Bosh’s home in the early hours of Friday morning after obtaining a search warrant in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The warrant lists Freida Bosh, mother of Chris Bosh. Freida is a resident of the home in question and claims to have “built” the home with Chris roughly 12 years ago.

WFAA in Dallas reported on the raid making note that the investigation began when police found cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop of a car leaving the house. Further surveillance of the house by local law enforcement revealed “a large amount of vehicle traffic that was coming and going,” and additional sources reported, “they also saw several ‘hand to hand’ drug type transactions occurring outside the residence.”

The warrant indicates that police believe crack cocaine and heroin were being trafficked out of the home consistent with narcotics trafficking.

However, Freida claims the issue stems from a former short-term tenant of the home and has nothing whatsoever to do with her. She claims that she had rented the home out in an effort to raise money to finance legal expenses she says stems from an ongoing eviction battle with her son Chris from whom she is estranged. She says she has not spoken to her son in nearly five years.

Chris’s brother Joel says he is been trying to help his mom work things out with Chris – but his priority is helping her clear her name in this current drug trafficking case because he believes she is 100% innocent.

Police “seized a large amount of drug paraphernalia” in the raid but did not make any arrests. Chris was not named as a suspect and police do not believe he has any connection to the drug trafficking going on at the house other than he owns the property.

During his time with the NBA Chris had a career that spanned some 14-years making an estimated $190 million. He played seven seasons for the Toronto Raptors and six seasons for the Heat.

The 11-time All-Star won two championships while playing in Miami with the Heat alongside teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. He has been unable to play in the league since the 2015-16 campaign due to blood clot issues, though two years still remain on his contract worth an guaranteed additional $52 million.

Police went into the home undercover to obtain evidence conducting a sting operation. On Tuesday the undercover officer went into the home to grab trash bags that had been left outside of the house.

Police then sifted through the contents of the trash and found significant evidence up to and including baggies containing cocaine residue and marijuana paraphernalia. There was also mail at the residence with Freida Bosh’s name on it.

One suspect at the home during the trafficking raid has a lengthy rap sheet including a conviction for shooting a man in the face during a drug deal gone bad.
